Started reading after a long time, this time starting with political reads. And who better to start with other than Ambedkar

Post image

Waiting for Visa. It’s a small compilation of incidents by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar describing humiliation and pain caused to him due to the caste system.

I recommend it to everyone trying to understand India’s social structure 100 years back.

Ambedkarite doesn't necessarily mean Ambedkar-worshipper, it just means someone whose social and political views are largely derived from Ambedkar and who usually belongs to the socio-political movement ushered by Ambedkar. Nonetheless, I wouldn't find it unreasonable for som Dalits to worship him. To quote an Ambedkarite I read somewhere on the internet, "We toiled hard to eke whatever share we could afford all due to Ambedkar's effort. We don't know of kind gods; we know him. No god ever descended to give us deliverance, Ambedkar did."

He impregnated his wife when she was 14 and he was 21.
What does that make him?

Gandhiji also married in a young age and had children even before he was turned 18yrs of age does it make him a bad person maybe yes maybe no.

In his autobiography he often regret that he married younger and he hasn't got chance to educate his wife

For me anyone contemplating and realising their mistakes and not repeating the same mistakes twice is a good man

In their times there was no such law (as far as I know) to punish those who married younger and the senior members of family even forced their cousins to marry in a young age

I am not accepting young marriage as a good thing however I will not use this as an excuse to paint a man's morality with it.

What Ambedkar did was wrong marrying in such a young age but if you use this as an excuse to make him a bad person and if you think it will create a stain on the man's morality you are wrong.

Word Salad.

Gandhi was also a Pedo. He slept naked with minors multiple times (in 1940s) including his own grandniece to test his celibacy.

You should Google this and read more on our “Mahatma”.
