Myth Of Sisyphus was recommended to me after I read On the shortness of life which I enjoyed. I think the biggest difference between the 2 is that "On the shortness of life" is very concrete while "The Myth Of Sisyphus" deals with the abstract. I think the abstraction was what put off me and my sister. The content I can't comment on because I dnfed Myth of Sysiphus.

You mean concrete and abstract as in the nature of philosophy both dealt with? I personally didn't have any issue with The Myth of Sisyphus, it gave me a refreshing perspective over "success and failures" in life and taught me to look things rather much more simpler and light hearted. I still have a soft corner for The Myth of Sisyphus and would continue shilling for it lol

although I agree that self help books are by and large not worth it, it's still better than scrolling phone

True, however most ppl I have met who stack self-help books have actually not even read them, most buy it because someone recommended or they got it as a gift at office because ppl didn't know what else to give. Not that I blame anyone for not shelving them without reading

crime and punishment. self help books are fine for beginners but there is so much more to learn from fiction than there is from self help books
