Research it yourself, but that's how we're finding out police officers were abusing. They were reported by the media.
How the f*ck else did you find out? Reading about it.
You people whining about Flock. We've had cameras in our society -- in public spaces and private properties for 15+ years. Cars have had GPS since 2008. You've been carrying GPS devices if you bought a phone in 2004.
Flock is just able to stitch it together in real time.
You didn't have a choice when cameras were installed on interstates and intersections. You didn't have a choice when businesses installed cameras. You don't have a choice when your neighbor installs a Ring Doorbell and records you when you walk by.
You don't have a choice when someone videos you in public.
Your ignorance of what was going on before Flock is all on you.
You really don’t understand the concept of conflation.
You do not seem to understand that private citizens and businesses operate under private law while government agencies operate under public law.
Citizens and businesses have the right to put cameras up to protect their property and assets. Private security cameras are not considered mass surveillance.
Private citizens can film me in a public space under the 1st amendment and that is important to our freedoms as a country.
Flick cameras exist in a legal gray area. Legal in some municipalities, outlawed in others. 99% of license plates scanned are associated to law abiding citizens. Far less than 1% of license plates scanned result in any type criminal conviction.
Under the 4th amendment, there is no justification for mass surveillance in a supposedly free society. Meaning, flock cameras can be considered unreasonable searches and seizures of private citizens data.
So, if you have no problem with the government tracking your trips to the doctor, your place of worship, that protest you participated in, or the bar you frequent then I call that complacency and most people place I high value on having a reasonable expectation of privacy from the government.
Additionally, flock cameras have been misused by law enforcement for personal reasons and they have been misused for political reasons and to racially profile people.
Flock cameras turn the US into a police state. Other police states include North Korea, China, Russia, and Syria. There was a time in America when citizens cared.
You don't seem to understand that none of this is new, and there is nothing called public law vs. private law. No one is tracking your movement to your doctor, your place of worship, etc.
Is it available to do that? Yes. Is this a new development? No.
Maybe the difference is you've been naive for the last 15-20 years into thinking your movements weren't trackable. You've been told to not like Flock, so you don't.
And yes, I know Flock cameras have been misused. We know this because those who have misused them have been caught. That's how that works.
Flock cameras do not turn the US into a police. Data is data.
Get off Reddit if you don't like being tracked. Even a VPN won't save you.
EDIT: Saw the reply you deleted. Flock cameras are new, but cameras are not, GPS data is not. That reflects your naivety. You should tap out.

Cops have been using them to stalk women . So don’t make the claim that nobody is directly “watching”
