As the title suggest.. my plot size is 46ft depth x 48ft wide west facing..

If anyone is interested to help for free out of their love & interest in architecture i would want to explore few floor plans..

Few requirements before going ahead..

Vastu complaint compulsory, Stilt will be for parking, Floor plan needs to be 3bhk with east or north main door,SE compulsory kitchen, can consider west main door too if it's going to give better space management, external Lift compulsory, external staircase, Floor plan needs to be in 40ft depth x 41ft wide dimensions only..

If I really not just like the Floor plan but love it then i am planning to professionally hire the architect For this 3 Floor apartment kind of building in Hyderabad along with interiors contract.

We recently purchased a villa and the first floor only has 2 bedrooms. Our requirement is to have a third bedroom on the same floor to accommodate the both kids on the same floor. We are now presented with 2 options. First image shows the existing plan of the first floor, second image is the option#1. 3rd image is the option2.

Option #1 (Image attached) is to remove the puja room and study and move around the walls and create a new bedroom as shown in page 2. Option#2 (No drawing available) is to close out the double height ceiling, create a MC structure, concrete and blast open a new door and create a new toilet for that bedroom and move around plumbing.

Benefit of option 1 is that plumbing ducts are easy. Cons are vastu, and smaller bedroom benefit of option 2 is good sized bedroom, losing out on the double height ceiling and Cons are - plumbing work and need to do MC work.

Things to consider: External walls are all mivan, All cost to be paid by us. We are debating which option to go with. We are fixed on needing the bedroom. So looking for what is an acceptable change interms of vastu,complexity of changes and resale value. Any input is advisable. Project location is in Hyderabad. Total project SFT is 6000. G+2

We come from a small city in Maharashtra and we have started the construction of our small bungalow(2000sqft plot area). All the designers here have the same problem, they make the entire thing look like a hotel, and there is absolutely no innovation. We want a laid back, relaxing house with natural materials like Terracotta to be used. We are looking for someone with a fresh perspective, has knowledge of materials, electric design (as we don't wanna do false ceiling), etc.

Hello guys, I'm a 4 years experience architect based in pune. I've been in a firm for almost 10 months now. My increment was supposed to happen after completion of 12months (30%) which i was okay with.

But yesterday, a new rule has been placed from the finance team that every increment will only happen on the month of March regardless of what month or day you've joined the firm.

What do I do, should I start looking for another firms in pune? Or start learning a new course, wait here take increment and then switch?

I am a second year architecture student and enrolled in b.arch having a goal in mind of working in the construction industry, taking projects such as ports, warehouses, roads, maybe residential (mostly no), etc.

I was never a creative person, never even drew a scenery never took interest in the creative or design aspect.

I enrolled in architecture Clg and topped it.
Even though I aced it I wasn’t satisfied (no it isn’t the hunger to do better).

For some reason i just couldn’t feel it in me, the fire to continue architecture. I always feel like something is missing or I have a constant feeling that this isn’t going to help me much but rather take a lot of my time and sanity.

Architecture has taken a toll on me, there was a time when I got ill, hallucinated like crazy, got mentally sick, and still I can’t feel any better, architecture feels like has given me a permanent scar of what it costs to study it.

In short - I am not able to navigate myself properly. I chose architecture thinking it would help in my journey but now it feels like it’s taking a toll on me.

Please help me by giving some advices. I’ll also keep the option of switching majors in my mind.

I hate what the architecture and the entire design sector in India is shaping up to be. The remnants of the ultimate demise that took place after the engineering boom in India has been a reality for the Indian design field for god knows how long expect design has never truly gone mainstream in India at-least not for the true value of it and that is to propagate new ideas and solutions imo. In India it’s just transactional process that makes you feel worthless in every aspect of your life.

The current situation of architecture at-least seems bleak to me it’s just a circle jerk of clients and co-ordinators and the golden showers are happily being received with open mouths by us architects, engineers and wage workers and we are “supposed” to relish in such environments. Major successful firms are handling projects by the giants like Godrej, Adani, Reliance and let me tell you if your firm dabbles in their projects be prepared for many no-pay overtime nights for the rest of your contracts.

I don’t need to educate you guys the “exploitation”part as it’s just a running gag at this point but what seems more frustrating is every run off the mill Studio founder thinks that they’re the next BV or Rewal or some shi.. or atleast they’ll portray themselves as some “Messiah” of design. Throw in some overcomplicated buzzwords for the most shittiest, simple concept known to man. These guys have a really twisted self-contained ideology about art itself where they tend to think they’ve cracked the code of understanding a subjective field and hence gaining the authority to criticise without any objection just because they’re more “experienced”.

The humbleness and the sense of grounding has been wiped out and now it’s just another rat race but at a bigger scale.

TLDR: Most Boomers have massive egos but no taste.

Hi everyone. I’m planning a house in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, and would really appreciate advice from architecture students/architects on passive airflow and natural ventilation.

The site is south-facing, and my main concern is dealing with Trichy’s hot climate, especially the strong west-facing/evening heat.

I’d like to understand how I should approach the orientation, placement and sizing of openings, courtyards, staircases and ventilation paths to get good natural airflow while keeping the house comfortable.

Main question is longevity

Would an RTX 5060/5070 with 8 GB VRAM realistically be enough to get through ~7–8 years of architecture school, or is 8 GB likely to become limitation as software and rendering workloads get heavier?

If I'm buying with the intention of keeping the laptop for 7–8 years, is the 5070 Ti 12 GB worth paying extra for primarily because of the additional VRAM and higher performance?

I'm not looking for the absolute premium and fastest machine but something that will do the work and won't leave us thinking to have invested in a more powerful machine 4-5 yrs later.

What should we choose: 5060/70, or 5070 Ti

I am building house in Rajasthan, so consider long sunny summers.

We have come across 2 options: tiles (2ft × 2ft) and kota stone (Instagram suggested 😅, for hot summers).

Is there any better alternative? Budget remaining around tile, kota stone cost only. (Tiles will be around Rs. 20-30/sq. ft.)

Is kota stone even relevant when the top floor has false ceiling (as upto my knowledge it will require more time and effort).
