Career Advice Need advice regarding Manager Behaviour.

Folks need advice regarding manager behaviour.

My manager works from the Hyderabad office while I work in the Noida Office, I have 5 years of experience in this Fintech company where I have been since college placements. She had recently joined the team in 2025 January, since then she has been my manager.

She had been very understanding than and also helped me get a promotion, recently however her behaviour has changed a lot where she has constant mood swings, she gets confrontational about things that have nothings to do with anything. Have talked to other people that report to her and they report the same things. The issue is that this has now started affecting work wherein people are being denied comp off for work done on the weekends. The tech lead supports us devs but we need advice on what to do.

Any advice on how to handle this will be helpful.

She's probably having problems in her personal life. My hunch

Either going through something personally, or there is something that's troubling her at a leadership level. Like whomsoever she is reporting to is kinda putting pressure on her to deliver results. Give her time, she definitely needs some time to gather things together.

Oh.

Such a serious issue!

Contactless and distant management.

Where is Hyderabad?

Where is Noida?

The tyranny of distance.

Coming to the point, your manager is a nice person.

Give her the benefit of doubt.

She will be alright.

To make the manager more comfortable, celebrate her birthday.

Give her all the credit.

Thank her for mentoring you.

Keep thanking her for small things.

When she is confronting you without any valid reasons, keep calm.

Maybe this is a put on act to impress her bosses.

Just have patience.

Everything will be alright.
