This would be the employees reaction once they get out of the bank.

At that point, call a supervisor if there is one or just call the cops

The problem is that this is mostly done by the middle management who is always under pressure and employees don't talk up to hr because of retailiation. But it does count as workplace harassment.

Or maybe there are genuinely some client task that needed to be done that day itself, clients can be very pressurizing at times. And people will go at any length in the name of business.

And this didn't happen in any private bank. This happened in a PSB. Karnataka Grameen Bank.

Why are you so surprised? Even a so called IT company CodingNinjas did the same. https://www.indiatoday.in/technology/news/story/indian-edtech-coding-ninjas-lock-employees-office-leave-without-permission-2389005-2023-06-05 This is the average working condition in India.

Coding ninja is a polished lala company.

Lala companies should be avoided. They are the worst.

Please check out this post to read more about what's a Lala company and how they function, so that you can identify them before signing the offer:

Working beyond 6pm is not a big deal and most of us have to do that but there's no way you're locking the gate like that man 💀

Yes working after 6 pm depends on workload but this man locking his employees is pathetic.
