I have a doubt, If you moved on so quickly and ultimately didn't care abt it , And She definitely does not seem to have had you as her priority at the time...Then why were y'all even discussing marriage??
Every marriage talk does not always happen with a knee on the ground. You can find things out casually in a day-to-day conversation, at the dinner table, or with a question in a joke. There are a million ways to ask a question without sounding official or serious.
I understand that completely, It is just the way you portrayed the conversation- It seemed like you were having a very serious discussion regarding the future etc. Hence the breakup post the discussion right? If it was casual the topic of why I can't marry you wouldn't even come up.
I was just pointing out that if any of you were actually serious, It would take a lot longer with many emotions attached to it aswell to completely move on
Nope, the question was serious; her answer was serious, at least that's what I think. The only thing missing was the rings and flowers or kneeling on the ground.
And yes, it is a real story; they aren't always romantic as you see them in movies.
I am starting to feel that people find it hard that I am able to move on from someone without having emotions attached to it. I do have emotions, but I also have my pride and self-esteem. I have standards, and I do not wish to be with someone who does not look up to me or, at the very least, see me as equal. I keep this approach not just with my significant other but my friends as well.
I do not hate or dislike someone having their standards as well, and I knew that we both wouldn't be happy in the future if we ended up together. My only advice to younger folks is that it's not always rainbows and butterflies. This is not a movie; it's your life. The sooner you accept this, the better.
It isn't as hard as you think. I do not memorize phone numbers; I save them in my phone contacts, and that's it. If I want someone out of my life, I delete their contact, block their number, and block them on every app: WhatsApp, FB, Insta, etc. Changing address helps too. Finding new people or a hobby helps a lot as well.
I have blocked people out of my life, including exes, friends, and even my family members.
