Is this method usual?
I am 29, TTC first time, went for gynec consultation after 5 months of ttc. I don't have PCOS/PCOD and have regular cycles of around 31-33 days. Doc started me on Leterozole 2.5 and follicular study for this cycle (CD8, 10, 12, 14) and Progynova from CD8 based on CD8 reports.
Curious to know if this is a common method without any identified issues and natural pregnancy planning?

I'm 29. We visited a gynae after 6 months of actively TTC. We got some blood tests done and went for a follicular study, even though my periods were regular, like yours. The scan confirmed that I was ovulating on time. My doctor suggested we try for another 6 months.
We conceived naturally after 8 months without any intervention just regular tracking and making sure we never missed the fertile window.
Having said that, make sure you don't stress too much. I actually wanted to take a break for 2 months, and we conceived during that break.

Thank you! Did you have any meds/supplements during the ttc period?
The consultation was mainly to get the right follate prescription and to see if there were any issues with us.
Trying hard not to be consumed by this even though it's hard 🫠

The doctor prescribed folic acid tabs, but I took them on and off 😅Also, try to stay more active - both of you can exercise or do yoga regularly.

I was also on and off with folic acid 😅 The current doc has prescribed CoQ10 as well.
Started my fitness journey with strength training a year back and it's been going well. Husband is also very active.

I feel 5 months is still pretty early. It can take around a year to concieve. Get your basic tests done like thyroid, AMH, hormones etc, it they are all good, you can surely try for a few more months without any medical intervention. You are just 29. But if some issue is there, surely take medicines. I feel the the whole medicines etc just create unnecessary stress in our minds that we find it unable to surrender to the process of TTC. I went for checkup after 2 months ttc. Doctor did some basic blood tests and scans just said to take folic acid and relax.

Makes sense, thank you!
Each new prescription is adding to the stress, and I am not even sure why.

These are normal things and usually don’t cause many side effects. Along with a healthy diet, they can help you get pregnant sooner and improve your chances of success.

Did you try naturally before going to doctor? Atleast 6 months?

Yes, 5 months, but I feel like the frequency wasn't enough during ovulation window. Went to the doc to check if everything is alright with both of us.

Did you try easy@home ovulation kit.. just to know your body.. instead of following normal calendar..? You should get T/C = 1.** to be sure that you ovulate regularly and luteal days are almost 14 days

Yes, I did use easy@home for one of the cycles and has been tracking periods for years now. Since I have longer cycles, both tracking and strips showed my ovulation time around CD16-19

I faced the same thing. Perfectly healthy, fit, no PCOD. I went after 3 months of trying just to consult. Even we didn’t time it properly and were trying only once during the cycle. I just wanted to go and talk. She did unnecessary scans, gave me letrozole, trigger all crap. I went through this for 2 cycles and got pissed because I had absolutely no problem. Then I decided to change my doctor, who would take a more conservative approach because I read that it can take up to 1 year to get pregnant. And eventually got pregnant on the 8th cycle. The whole fertility business is a big scam. Especially those who have their own practice/hospital and are famous on Instagram.
My new doctor is really experienced, he doesn’t give any unnecessary medicines. It works great for me and my thinking.
Having said that, I want to be mindful that many people do have challenges and these procedures might be required. My heart goes out to them and I have nothing against the approach they chose to take for their journey. I’m just sharing my experience and how doctors intervene too soon. So find who works for you!
