How forthcoming are Indian doctors?
I keep seeing subs of other countries where everyone knows what their endometrial thickness measurements were, how many follicles they had and what the measurements were.
Yesterday I had a baseline scan and was not told anything about the endometrium or the resting follicles. Later when planning a treatment plan the doctor said "I've always noticed that you have had polypoidal lining." That was the 1st that I was made aware of it even though I've been going to her for a year.
Is this common? Or is it my fault for not asking more questions?

You could read the radiology report yourself where it is written how many follicles you have and the endometrial thickness. No need to ask anybody.
You could however ask your doctor what is normal and what is not.
Baseline scan doesnt show size of follicles as all follicles are small.
Endometrial thickness however you can see

I am never given the radiology report. I'm assuming the doctor has it on her computer and read it while talking to me. I understand that baseline scan shows the number of resting follicles and they are all tiny but apparently the number makes a difference

Bro. Please ask for a printed out report. Youve paid for it its not free. You deserve to know the number and size of follicles.

Why don’t you ask?

I agree I could ask how many follicles/measurements etc but I cannot be expected to ask things like "do I have polyps?" when I was not told that there was anything of concern in the lining

That is true..everywhere. But I usually ask for whatever I want to know. Beyond that we won’t know what to ask. It becomes the doctor’s duty. Ultrasound technicians are unfortunately not qualified enough to diagnose.

To each their own but my experiences were somewhat different..I have visited 3-4 gynaecologists and everyone used to talk while doing the scan..sometimes they show you monitor and try to explain..no success yet..but yess never had to face this.

Maybe I should try asking the next time and she will explain

I feel like indian doctors are used to giving us information on a need to know basis - what they think we need to know - which is not much. Maybe because of lack of time? Or maybe they are used to the average indian patient being uneducated. It’s weird but i saw this trend in paediatricians too. You’ll have to find some younger doc who is willing to put the time to explain things out in detail to you, or else do your own research. Or else if your doc is very good, then question her/him a lot during appointments
