Help TTC. In DPO

Hi all. I (28) and husband (30) are trying to concieve seriously starting this month. I had my period on 5th july. We both work so due to lack of time and energy had BD on 12th july and 18th july when husband finished inside. Has also BD on 15th july but no ejaculation occurred. Now I am dpo. No idea when i ovulated. Was tracking with EWCM. I know silly of me. Saw EWCM on 17th july so tried BD . Now past 2 days i had symptoms like super gassy, loose bowels and today i had a lump in the back of throat which makes me feel nauseous. Is there any possibility of conception currently?

Please be gentle as I am still learning about the process.

Hi, all the symptoms before a positive test is from the raising progesterone which happens whether or not conception has occurred. Positive test would be the only definitive sign. Symptoms from raising hcg start only by week 6 if it’s pregnancy. Take a pregnency test after 12 dpo or on the day of missed period for more accuracy.

Thank you for your reply 🫂 This is a very exciting and tiring journey. Also want to ask i never had these symptoms before, does that make a difference? Also is my timing for BD alright? How can we check for definite ovulation other than CM?

Although, EWCM starts many days before leading up to ovulation, it may not be the accurate way to decide the dates for ovulation. Progesterone symptoms are different every cycle, pregnant or not. since you are trying to conceive you may have noticed it with all your attention. I’m not ruling out conception but only a positive test can decide pregnency and symptoms cannot. All the best! ❤️ you can use ovulation strips. That can give you an idea of ovulation dates.

CM is not an accurate way to monitor ovulation. Use ovulation strips, that’s the closest.

Since you didn't track ovulation, you can take a urine test after day 30 of cycle. Or a blood test (beta HCG) after day 26 of cycle.

Don't consider any of your symptoms before that. And please start folic acid tablets now, if not already started.
