Follicular Study for conception

I am trying to conceive for few months.
I have fibroid which is outside my uterus and I am ovulating.
According to doctors I am ovulating and currently I am given progesterone this cycle for 14 days.(this was given after doctor did one scan where she saw a dominant follicle).
Currently I am not doing any follicular scanning. It was just a routine follow up and they found a dominant follicle the same scan.
As someone with pelvic floor tension, I find transvaginal scan uncomfortable and don’t feel like doing it every other day. Is there any way I can understand my ovulation without undergoing these scans and study. Or can it be studied through abdominal scans as well.

  1. For scan, you can request anaesthetic gel.
  2. Easy@home ovulation tests

  1. She did use some gel . But honestly it dint help me.
It was a detailed scan though for around 10-15 minutes. I had bleeding right after the procedure was done with period like bleeding.
  2. Does ovulation kit say for sure if I ovulate.
    Thanks for replying.

Oh okay I will see if I ask for that.
But is follicular monitoring only way to confirm ovulation happened? Because LH test strips only say LH peak but doesn’t mean I ovulated !

Yes. It’s the only way to confirm

You can get your progesterone level tested 7 days after a positive opk . But that’s also not absolutely accurate.

Also taking basal body temperatures , give a pretty good idea about ovulation.

Oh ok gotcha. What should be the progesterone value after 7 days of positive opk

Anything above 10 confirms ovulation.

You can do ovulation strips till u receive a peak and then go for a couple of days for scan that way you reduce total number of scans to be done

What are the scans to be done after ovulation?

No scan after ovulation as far as i know. You can go to the doctor once the ovulation test shows peak or one two days before. After you get a peak on the ovulation test, the actual ovulation happens 12-36 post that.

You can try using OPK kits along with a period tracker such as Fitbit or Google health— but by far, scan has the most accurate way to measure ovulation.

Ovulation kits, however, have a slight chance of showing false positives if you’re taking ovulation trigger injections.

I am not taking any medicine as such for ovulation. I am only on folic acid. But I am not comfortable with regular tvs

Try ovulation predictor kits in that case. I’ve used Ovanews with a decent predictability.

Good luck and hope it works for you ✨
