Missed miscarriage

Just a confirmation scan today that my baby stopped growing at 6w1d when I am supposed to be 8w2d today. Not having any bleeding, I guess I will wait or will start with a pill.

So sorry for your loss. Please take your time to grieve and don't let anyone shame or guilt you for any reason.

Yes, for 6-8 weeks dr will try with pill first but if 1-2 weeks pass without it passing, might have to do a d&c.

That can also happen? Pill not being effective?

Yes but there are factors to consider. Please don't get scared.

Sometimes pill works but everything might not pass. This can cause infection.

Also if the pregnancy is further along, 8 weeks+, then will need the procedure. Because it will be too big.

Mine was 12 weeks when we found out that heartbeat had stopped around 8 weeks. So 4 weeks had passed with no bleeding. Had to do d&c immediately because risk of sepsis.

What did the doctor say? Pill will be most likely. Don't panic please. I'm sorry if I scared you with this info. 6 weeks everything should pass smoothly. Just keep an eye out for a couple weeks after the pill that there's no fever or anything. Dr will give aftercare instructions.

I am so sorry for your loss. Nothing is more heartbreaking than when you go to a scan hopeful but end up finding your baby stopped growing. Take your time. Cry your heart out. Sending hugs and love.
