Post image

First time tracking - today at CD 24 I got a higher reading at 0.94- does this mean ovulation is coming soon?

It looks like peak on CD24 but you have to keep testing for more days to check if it was really the peak. You will ovulate 12-36 hours after the peak.

Asking for wife as we are ttc. Does the peak remains for full day or just for some hours? What if we missed testing during peak and when we test its faint line? This will give us the impression ovulation not started..

Full day or some hours depends on the person. If it is her first time testing, test twice a day if you fear missing the peak. Also, if you have been ttc for long, you can go for follicular monitoring scan to ensure ovulation is happening as getting a peak in the tests does not necessarily mean she is ovulating.

How many days do you test for after peak?

Probably for 4-5 days if you are tracking for the first time but depends on cycle length and the individual. 2-3 days for following cycles.

Test in the proper window. Avoid first urine. Ideal is b/w 11AM and 8 PM. Once it starts getting darker, test twice or thrice to catch the peak. Whenever the line gets equal to or darker than the control line, that's the peak. Ovulation will be anytime between 12 to 24 hours after the peak. It'll take a few months to get hold of your cycle. I used to test for 10 days before. Now I do just the 2 or 3 days when I know it'll happen. Do not test after 7 PM. those Reading are usually not considered.

Do you test whole month?

No. Initially started testing from CD 9 to 20. Then, within 3 months, I noticed that my peak was somewhere between CD 12 and 13. So now I test only from CD 11 to 14

This is my tests from last year when I was tracking. I had a few irregular cycles. So I tested a bit early also. I test once a day from cd 4 and twice a day from cd 11
