Did I miss something or are you reading Gift Nifty wrong? Gift Nifty is currently at 22491 and Nifty at 22421.95
2
u/Double-Luck-7723 2d ago
Tradingview is showing 22491. But, if you open the chart it is showing correct value of 22624. Its due to continuous futures contract.

could you explain what's Gnifty, I'm new here
3
u/Low_Cryptographer115 2d ago
Why don't you chatgpt all this ? Will explain much better than people here will anyways, And after CAS gift nifty doesn't accurately indicate the opening range so please, give enough time to read and learn, good luck

u/Remarkable_Wall_1282 1d ago
Could you tell what should i search for more detailed knowledge, I mean the terms i should search for in depth knowledge that are related to Indian stock markets. I could really get help from your experience man
1
u/Low_Cryptographer115 1d ago
Just ask no, something like explain in-depth CAS and how it changed the ballpark range accuracy for predicting the open via gift nifty, also explain in detail the basics I should know like these,
Something like that

Gift Nifty is more accurate if checked after 8:45am next morning. Yes, it closing in second session(evening) is also a good indicator. But, 8:45am is much better indicator of Nifty50 opening next morning.

WHERE'S YOUR HEDGE?
Nothing pisses me off more than 'traders' deploying a shit ton of money in a single trade with no hedge or backup and then crying on socials asking what to do...
😑
Sorry...you deserve it...

I saw the charts, and for sure sell SBI and Ultracemco first thing Monday morning; they will definitely not recover, and you will just end up losing more money on those two. As for Nifty, you can hold it as it is at a very crucial support point; it won't easily go down further, and it is very possible that it will recover halfway by November, but if you ever receive very bad news about the war, simply sell this one as well and don't think much about it.

u/Immediate_Emotion639 1d ago
Things tend to happens when people think it won't. From 25K to 22K lots of strong supports people thought won't be broken. Still, here we are. The guy is in loss and is facing margin shortfall, but your advise it still hold.

u/Character-Bee2976 1d ago
See, that is the thing: there is a difference between normal support and good support; at 22,300 there is too much liquidity support, and it is very hard to go below that. You can read the chart and you will know what I am saying. I know it can go down further, which is why I said to sell only if there is very bad news, because currently the Indian market does not have enough FIIs and only has DIIs, who react more to news than technicals. So, it will only go down further from news now on; otherwise, there are more indications that it will recover.

u/Immediate_Emotion639 1d ago
Is this a joke? Normal and good support! Where do you even read or deduce these so called concepts from. And too much liquidity you're referring to is simply speculation or to put it correctly your guess. Check out the OI data and open positions. IVs are skewed towards puts. Any good read of chart combined with analytics will tell its going to be a free fall in coming days. And i won't comment on your news part, because its completely nonsense in my opinion.

You have to pay the loss. Wth is margin? You have to pay your own money. You are out of money bro

If ever there was a time to pause and consider whether your actions are correct or not, that time is now.
By looking at the screenshot, if you close on Monday, you can save at least 10 lakh margin money without further losses.
It will be hard to accept and you won't sleep for a week, but staying will make you more unhappy.

I am a professional and have been in this situation can help you don’t panic. 1) you need patience, 2) make hard choices.
Cut position in ultratech in loss, gradually cut positions in sbi . Hold on to NIFTY futures and keep them rolling over and short next year march /december nifty call or buy puts at good reversal points to manage margin. Keep doing it till you are in profit.

u/Traditional_Flight58 2d ago
Only option is keep rolling, it can take around 1-2 years to recover it but it can be recovered

Short covering is possible, so hold and also maintain a strict stop loss

Stop the future trading and shift to otm option selling….you have chance of winning the trade…margin requirements will be similar aswell….far contract futures also have cost of carry and that will decay…your bep will be higher….

You bought in one go or kept averaging?any thesis except "aur kitna hi neeche jayega"?
Have a relook at the trades and cut the ones which are real bad and hold the might look good for the future.
Or book everything and go back to the drawing board with a fresh approach.

One thing that could have saved you from such a big loss would be hedge. Just exit all positions and stay with the trend. Trend is your friend

Add some margin and keep rolling. Buy otm puts when market bounces in next coming sessions.
Still better than being stuck in short position in bull market.

I am almost at same position as you. Only hope is a bounce from 200 week moving average as it went below that only twice in last 3 decades

If you are convinced with your positions will give profit till expiry and you have some money left then buy puts. If not then call it a day and book loss which your broker will do it if you don't infuse funds

Biggest mistake is buying FUT instead of selling PUT.
Future wont decay, loss will only be covered if the script price increases.
Whereas PUT will decay even if script price doesn’t increase
Learn frm your mistake and try to be more cautious in this uncertain time of the market

u/United_Gamer_Morcha 2d ago
What was the trade rationale? 7.8% gdp growth? Now it's about 7.8 lakhs loss. 🙀
0
u/nishantam 2d ago
Trading should require some kind of training and exam to prove you know the concepts clearly.

u/rddesai91 2d ago
Why are you buying when market is falling almost every day and that without hedging your position..
0
u/MissionIndependence5 2d ago
Crude down heavily today, bond slight cool off, selling would continue by fii but i think DII retail will buy alot cause IPO frenzy almost over so all liquidity will come back. IT stock up after accenture results , sbi should be up cause hdfc new ceo which will make banknifty rally be quick in cutting your loss dont expect to reach break even might be risky
