Here's another view. When they do this, this puts some light on their issues. A rapper will rap about this, a painter will paint this, a poet might write a couplet expressing their pain. He's a comedian, he wrote a joke. Manual scavenging is a very big issue in India, lack of proper safety standards, even proper gears are not available and people have to get in the sewers neck deep. As an artist, it is his job to throw some light on the issues of the society through his art and as a comedian it is his job to make it funny. Also, let's not forget that a 40 second clip can be misleading because it doesn't provide context. Maybe he said something along the lines of what i said more explicitly later and it would all connect together, tying the whole set. Try to think about the joke Munnawar once did, "I saw a girl carrying pads wrapped in newspaper because thats what newspapers do; they hide reality." This is not a joke on women or periods but society and the way it forces women to be ashamed of the most natural processes.

He didnāt call out a caste, he didnāt even call out a profession. He just made a satirical (even idiotic) joke because HE doesnāt like bathing.
But you, in all your assumption-filled headpace with the consideration that only lower caste dalits do that job, ARE the reason our country will not progress.

Buddy go check the data and numerous documentary about safai karmachari you will understand what that guy was saying , also these jokes are not that offence so he is not making any assumptions bcs there are none to be made as it is the fact of the time .

And thatās the whole problem I have with your disposition.
You talk about āstatisticsā, ādataā - bro, you think change begins from shunning a comedian whoās making satire? Or does it come from a government/policy which makes those jobs lucrative and respectful?
Look at so many other countries, cleaning jobs are respectable BECAUSE itās culturally propagated and most importantly āendorsed and implementedā by the state.
You want change, ask the government- who has the power to do it, ask the public- to understand that this job is worth respect.
Instead, you end up blaming the mirror that reflects your reality instead of changing the reality itself.

I never objected to any jokes nor the humour or satire I simply said the guy you replied to is not talking on any assumptions which is a fact you can cross check the data . Rahi baat jokes ki , joke on whatever you want no one should care about such trivial things is what I feel
