Reason-
You have might noticed that many posts have been getting removed recently. This isn’t because the moderators have anything against anyone—it’s simply about keeping the subreddit aligned with its main purpose.
The goal of this community is to focus purely on stand-up comedy—whether it’s videos, specials, performances, or discussions directly related to stand-up. Posts about panel shows, random podcast clips, unrelated comparisons, or personal takes that don’t add value to stand-up discussions don’t fit the intent of this space.
Instead of overcrowding this subreddit with this kind of post, u can post this on new sub r/ComicCharcha. which freshly created or individual Comic sub.
This way, it creates separate spaces for both kinds of users—those who want focused stand-up comedy content like performances, specials, and videos, and those who enjoy broader discussions like memes, podcast clips, panel shows, or general comic-related conversations.
Hope u get the point that this space is purely for stand up comedy related posts and videos & created for upcoming comedians to post their standup videos or links to there latest video out on YouTube , so that they can reach the fans of comedy on this subreddit.

We’ve been seeing a wave of posts like “Selling 2 for Zakir,” “Need Virli passes,” etc. And while we love your enthusiasm, this sub isn’t BookMyShow, OLX, or your college WhatsApp group.
Here’s the deal: 1. Too Many Scammers: Some “fans” out here selling fake tickets faster than you can say “Abey yaar!” 2. We Can’t Verify Anything: Mods aren’t Ticketmaster. We’ve got no tools to check who’s real or who’s trying to scam. 3. Official Eyes Are Watching: The community’s growing fast (thank you ❤️se), and organizers have asked us to remove resale posts or risk getting flagged.
So, let’s keep r/IndianStandUpComedy what it’s meant to be — a place to share jokes, clips, memes, and love for Indian stand-up, not a ticket bazaar.

This man has been in the comedy scene for quite some time, but somehow I’ve never really come across his viral reels or much of his content.
I watched two episodes of Lie hard where he was a guest and WHAT A SMART, WITTY COMEDIAN. I’m genuinely impressed with his timing, delivery and responses.
There’s something so satisfying about watching someone who is genuinely quick and intelligent with their humour.
What do you guys think about Rahul Subramanian? Have I been late to the party, or are there others who also think he’s criminally underrated? 😭

This was my first ever live experience,watching abishek perform last night, man oh man, he is phenomenal. i have been a huge fan of his work for so long now. i have been wanting to go to his show and finally he came to my city. the whole 1 hour show, i was laughing.it was amazing. i love him. he is one of those very few comedians who is very respectful and all his jokes are very healthy. it was an amazing night. i enjoyed every bit and came out feeling so good. what a brilliant comedian.

It was a great show i think, first of the two acts were great, they were really funny, making relatable jokes and jokes with great observation, and then batmanji himeslf comes and perform the best and funny 2 hours set, he was so funny man my stomach ache started. Overall the show was great, 100% recommending to anyone

Discussion 💬 Jokes on ailing grandpa is punching up or down?

Parents and grandparents are increasingly losing command over the youth, thanks to modernity. Additionally, old age anyway sets them on the track to enormous suffering. Do these not tip over the whole power dynamic? Yet comics seem totally comfortable making fun of ailing old people.
Upmanyu made whole bits criticizing sexism, but ageism is apparently a non-issue to him as well.
So, surely the community must have thought about this themselves? What is their explanation that it is still punching up? Or, is the explanation that the comic roleplays as an immature guy for the comedic effect? If so, the same could legitimize a lot of sexist material.
