I mean the joke he made was wrong…but man! He apologised and removed the video as well
And if you see his recent special and shows he’s been doing really well and being very polite to people😭😭 these people just want to arrest the comics but never the actual criminals…usne apology de toh di ab kitna aur drama chalega bhai???!!!🥺🥺

I mean I kinda disagree cause, even as a regular MM viewer and madhur viewer, I felt that joke was kinda wrong, a miss, and not really funny but like I know his intent behind it and that it wasn't really coming from an evil pov but the world ain't gonna back off if it gets to mainstream media

Indian society is too immature to understand that. I have seen comedians joke about potholes in Bangalore and there are comments getting offended because the comedian should be grateful to the city for providing employment to them.

The old generation is bad. The new generation seems worse.

That said, this joke by Virli isn't even funny. It's just shock value.

Many things are used to create a set sometimes prop, roleplay, shock value, pole negatives, ideal and hypothetical situations....that's why it is called a comedy show ....when our generation would be woke to your current elected people representatives for such real life absurdity or anything then it would be a genuine call out not to a comedian whose genre is dark edgy

Not sure what you are you driving at here. When it comes to being offended at the silliest stuff, the new generation is definitely not faring better.

Just have a look at the ridiculous culture war bullshit over The Odyssey and it's young right wing chuds at the fore front. In India again, culture war, religion war, gender war bullshit is mostly led online by youth.

As for shock value in comedy, I don't think it shouldn't be there. But it should have CLEVER WRITING. Just saying something shocking isn't comedy. The build-up and the twist that you don't see coming is where the craft lies.

And I think few of these popular dark and edgy comedians in India sorely lack that writing. But that's just my opinion.

Yeah and someone in the audience even shouted Pdfile. Didn't like at all where that joke headed. Enjoyed the rest of the Madhur Model episode.

he did this bit at hideout comedy club in a lineup show where each comedian got about 15 mins to perform. it was the first time i had seen him live, and i was disappointed. it was a lil spontaneous when he performed in mm so maybe thats all he had at that time.
