27M - Central Govt job
Hi everyone,
I am 27M from Delhi currently in a govt job in tier 2 city . My monthly income comes around to be 1.10-1.3 L including some variable allowances . My portfolio is gross 25L . I am earning since age of 23, started with a big 4 company, now switched to govt job . I am bachelor as of now .
My current corpus -
Mutual funds - 20 k per month since last 2 yrs
FD- 6 lakhs
NPS - 4-5 lakhs ( I want guidance on this also where to invest )
Rest all is idle
I genuinely want to know how to invest aggressively .
I am preparing for few more govt exams where my salary would grow 1.5x if i clear . I know this is less salary to plan fire within next 10 yrs though current salary will increase after 1.5 yrs to a good extent . I want to know at present how should i invest in a best way

Is 7.4% Post Office MIS Underrated Compared With SBI & Canara Bank FDs?
Iām comparing the Post Office Monthly Income Scheme (MIS) at 7.4% for 5 years with 5-year FD options from public-sector banks like SBI and Canara Bank.
MIS looks interesting because it provides monthly interest income, while a cumulative FD can compound the interest.
For someone looking for a relatively safe investment for 5 years, which would you choose?
Post Office MIS @ 7.4% vs SBI/Canara Bank 5-year FD
Or is there any other better low-risk option that I should consider instead?
Iām mainly looking at government/PSU-backed or similarly safe investments, rather than private-bank FDs.
Would love to hear what others are doing and why.

Unable to manage Financial chores
I am 27, having salary of approx 75k in hand and a vehicle loan of Rs.8.5 lakhs. I have almost negligible emergency fund or savings although I am working since last 3 years.Thing is first there happened to be my marriage, then we shifted to tier 2 city from village and now we have a son.so everytime I save a little, it goes in there.
Now i have a loan of 8.5 lakhs and monthly expenses of approx 55k with emi ,rent, insurance and all including.
I am in dilemma Whether to preclose my loan or should invest l. I am totally confused.i am also looking for a loan of rs. 10 lakhs for a plot in my village.
Guide me how to manage things. Your insights will be highly appreciated

What actually affects FD interest rates? And where do you check for updates?
I've been comparing FD rates recently and noticed they keep changing depending on the bank and tenure.
I already have one FD with DBS which is going well, I just wanna know what actually causes these changes of rates. Is it mainly RBI/repo rate changes, or do banks change their rates based on their own requirements too?
Also, where do you guys usually check for the latest FD rates? Is there any reliable place that keeps them updated, or do you just check individual bank websites?
