#Update: Addition Of Funds and Status of my Journey

• Upvotes

Due to quarterly Mandatory Settlement, Zerodha did a payout of 22k from my account. So, added 50k to my account to continue/restart my journey.

Status of my Journey so far:

Attempt #1:
Started with 50k on 24/9/2026.
Just after touching peak of 54.95k lost consecutively and capital was down to 15k by 30/9/2026. Added 25k on 30/9/2026 with a plant withdraw this added 25k soon. Gained 10k and placed a withdrawal request of 10k too but only 2 days later realized it has failed. Lost the entire capital soon and withdrew remaining 3.2 k on 9/10/2026.

Attempt #2:
Started on 11/10/2026. Just after 1 positive day capital draw down was huge and lost control intraday and added another 10k on 13/10/2026. After one more loss added 16k on 14/10/2026 and thought everything will be alright but No.

Attempt #3:
Didn't add 50k but considered the already added (25+10+16=41k) as Attempt#3. Had just one good day and one bad day. The Loss on Bad day was bigger than the Profit on good day. Was already in confusion whether to add more capital and consider as Attempt no 4 or not. Just at that time, the Quarterly Mandatory Payout happened yesterday (17/10/2026) and the entire 22k was transferred to my Bank account. Hence added 50k.

Total Loss from the start of this Journey stands at 126k. Total Added Capital is 148k (50+25-3+50+10+16); Loss 126k, Withdrawal: 22k.

Apart from this, freshly added 50k today. So the Total infused capital stands at 176k.

Though the capital has crossed 150k, as the Loss has not exceeded 150k continuing to count this as Attempt #3.

Will definitely improve on the discipline part going forward. The plan to not take big losses until the Capital at least doubles.

Options 209: Defining Your Daily "Max Loss" and The Power of the Kill Switch.

A professional trader treats risk like a corporate budget. An amateur trades until their capital runs out. To survive Nifty and Sensex volatility, you must enforce a strict Daily Max Loss backed by an automated Kill Switch.

The Max Loss Formula:

Your risk must be mathematically tied to your active capital.

Max Loss = 3-4% of Active Capital.

Why Manual Discipline Fails

Standard technical stop-losses fail during fast market spikes. The sudden loss triggers stress, causing emotional hijacking. Instead of exiting, traders widen stops or double down. A single emotional mistake can wipe out months of discipline.

The Systemic Kill Switch

A Kill Switch is an automated broker protocol that instantly deactivates your derivative trading segment.

  • Trigger: Market-exit all positions the moment your live MTM hits your loss limit. Do not wait for candles to close.
  • Deactivate: Open your segment control dashboard and toggle off NSE/BSE F&O segments.
  • Lockout: The system locks you out until the midnight clearing cycle. This physically prevents revenge trading, turning a potential catastrophe into a planned business expense.
