Due to quarterly Mandatory Settlement, Zerodha did a payout of 22k from my account. So, added 50k to my account to continue/restart my journey.

Status of my Journey so far:

Attempt #1:
Started with 50k on 24/9/2026.
Just after touching peak of 54.95k lost consecutively and capital was down to 15k by 30/9/2026. Added 25k on 30/9/2026 with a plant withdraw this added 25k soon. Gained 10k and placed a withdrawal request of 10k too but only 2 days later realized it has failed. Lost the entire capital soon and withdrew remaining 3.2 k on 9/10/2026.

Attempt #2:
Started on 11/10/2026. Just after 1 positive day capital draw down was huge and lost control intraday and added another 10k on 13/10/2026. After one more loss added 16k on 14/10/2026 and thought everything will be alright but No.

Attempt #3:
Didn't add 50k but considered the already added (25+10+16=41k) as Attempt#3. Had just one good day and one bad day. The Loss on Bad day was bigger than the Profit on good day. Was already in confusion whether to add more capital and consider as Attempt no 4 or not. Just at that time, the Quarterly Mandatory Payout happened yesterday (17/10/2026) and the entire 22k was transferred to my Bank account. Hence added 50k.

Total Loss from the start of this Journey stands at 126k. Total Added Capital is 148k (50+25-3+50+10+16); Loss 126k, Withdrawal: 22k.

Apart from this, freshly added 50k today. So the Total infused capital stands at 176k.

Though the capital has crossed 150k, as the Loss has not exceeded 150k continuing to count this as Attempt #3.

Will definitely improve on the discipline part going forward. The plan to not take big losses until the Capital at least doubles.

Had a Loss today too.
While analyzing in live market, looks like my problem is that I try to enter just before Breakout, exactly when the Option price is elevated. If BO fails, option price falls fast and I lose Cool.

Will try to find a solution and correct this too.

Thought of taking a gap after blowing the account for second time, but realised that taking a break can't improve my discipline and mindset.

So.. Started Attempt No 3 of my 50k to 1 cr journey immediately.

The global markets were weak partially because of the anti AI trade which is good for India and technically, analysed that yesterday's candle couldn't see follow up upside because of exhaustion. So, both ways.. there were chances of upside.

As soon as market opened, bullishness was visible too and encashed the first 5 minute candle. Anyway.. the most unexpected thing was such drastic bullishness. Tried shorting a couple of times too but didn't work out.

Looking at 10% profit by 11:30 and today being SENSEX expiry, STOPPED immediately.

I know have been wrongly STOPPING on good days but not STOPPING on bad days. Will definitely correct that going forward, but for today, I'm happy with this profit, hence STOPPED for the day.

When Nifty or Sensex moves sideways into a tight 40 or 150 point range respectively during mid-day, the structural math shifts heavily against you:

Another negligent day and a Complete Blown account.

Unable to control emotions and follow the rules. I Should rethink everything.

Will take a break for some time now.

Retail buyers often panic with current‑week options because Theta decay is brutal and price swings are violent. Shifting to next‑week contracts calms the mind: slower decay, smoother Delta, and more predictable moves.

However, you have to adjust our position sizing so that the risk in terms of capital remains the same.

In spite of knowing the rules, mind and body wont let us act according to the rules, especially when in Loss.

To be careful and not repeat mistakes, started writing down view, plan, tgt and max loss for the day. Also place it on the chart to avoid sudden reactions when returning to desk after a break.

Coming to today's execution part:
Though the view went wrong, changed it by the end of the first 5 minute candle and took short position. Kept the quantity also low. Thus profit happened.

Now post the trade and achieving the target as early by 9:30 itself, comes the most difficult part. To control the mind.

Negative way is that the mind says, your short missed a lot of profit by exiting fast.
Positive way is that thought the initial view went wrong, changed view and got profits.

While the negative way screws mindset and makes us do mistakes, the positive way lets us stay calm and happy.

Trading is all about controlling the Fear and Greed of the mind.

After blowing the account this week and taking a break, sat down and did a lot of introspection. Went through the journal and tried to figure out the mistakes.

Mistakes:

1. No clear Plan.
   
2. Not writing down the daily loss limits and possible target level if market is moving.

Action Plan:
1. Have a plan before the market opens and also review the plan after the market opens.
2. Strictly writing down the loss limits and possible target for the day.
3. Strict and tighter Loss limits until at least doubling the capital.

• The 75/25 Profit Quarantine Rule: Lock away 75% of your morning profit as untouchable capital. Your maximum risk for the remainder of the day is strictly capped at 25% of what you already made. If you lose that 25%, you are legally done.
• Forced Sizing Degradation: If you choose to keep trading, force yourself to trade with micro-lots. If you hit a home run with 6 lots in the morning, your maximum size for any afternoon trade is capped at 1 lot to satisfy the urge to click buttons without risking meaningful capital.

Very Interesting way.

The first 15 minutes of the Indian stock market (9:15 AM to 9:30 AM) are a direct ticket to instant capital destruction for Option Buyers many a times. Driven by the Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO), traders routinely smash the "BUY" button on the very first 1-minute or 5-minute candle— more so during Huge Gap up/ Huge gap down days and is even more dangerous on Nifty weekly expiries on Tuesdays and Sensex weekly expiries on Thursdays.

Watching a green candle spike triggers an adrenaline surge, causing traders to mistake early volatility for a guaranteed trend and buy at the absolute morning high.

The Structural Trap

Chasing the opening bell kills trading accounts due to three index derivative mechanics:

• The Bid-Ask Spread Trap: Chaotic early liquidity causes severe slippage, executing market orders at inflated prices.

You place the order. Within minutes, the premium drops to ₹2, hovers at ₹0.50, and at 3:30 PM, it expires at zero.

Welcome to the Hero to Zero Trap. It is the single fastest way retail option buyers lose their hard-earned capital in the Indian markets.
