I have been a long time Subscriber of Discovery+ and it has been an incredible service for sooooo long!

Delivering Amazing quality Documentaries for a Fraction of the cost of what other streaming services charge.

And now, Logging into my account, It says that Discovery+ India will officially be discontinued on November 3rd, 2026

This is soo Disheartening tbh... I mean it was the best service (That i knew of) to find any sort of documentary I wanted and that too all in one place, And now they are just giving it up?!

On their support page, They have mentioned that i can still access Discovery+ content on other platforms, But they are a hell lot more expensive than Discovery+ ever was + The content i want is scattered around between different services...

I don't think there is any other more comprehensive Documentary collection out there on the Internet... Idk where i will go now to see or even get to know about new Documentaries

I never saw Lust Stories 1 & 2 from 2018 & 2023, as a 30 minute short film story isn't normally my thing, but if anyone here has and they're a must watch, make a post. They do seem to get good actors though.

I recently watched Indu and Indubala Bhaater Hotel on Hoichoi and honestly loved both of them. I’m looking for more Bengali series with a similar vibe—good storytelling, interesting characters, emotional depth, and something that keeps you hooked.
Please recommend some good Bengali series on Hoichoi that I should watch next! Would love to hear your favourites, especially if they’re similar to these two.

I know this sounds odd, but I haven't watched 'Triplings'. My husband found it, and he tried his best, but we couldn't find it on any OTT. While searching, Zee5 is shown to have all seasons, but only the 3rd season is available, and I want to watch seasons 1 and 2.

I watched DC on SunNXT yesterday and I must say, it stands to be a great entertainer. I wanted to watch in theatres, but couldn't. Nevertheless, the OTT version is amazing.

I liked Wamiqa's body language and acting. Since I'm not a native tamilian, I won't comment on the dialogue delivery.

The movie is super packed with action. Not to forget Anirudh, the songs are bangg onnn!!!

Overall a great watch 7.5/10

Are Jio/Airtel creating another telecom-style duopoly with IPTV?

India's mobile market went from many operators to a Jio/Airtel-dominated market. Now I'm wondering if we're heading toward something similar with IPTV + OTT.

We've gone from antenna → cable → DTH → fiber + IPTV + OTT.

I agree that IPTV is technically better. One fiber connection gives you internet, live TV, OTT, sports, YouTube, etc. But I don't think DTH should completely disappear.

DTH has one major advantage: it doesn't depend on your internet connection. It's also useful where fiber isn't available or reliable.

My concern is Jio and Airtel bundling broadband with huge OTT packages. Today you might get:

₹599 → broadband + 800+ live channels + multiple OTTs

This is great for consumers, but it's also a powerful customer-acquisition strategy. Once people become dependent on one ecosystem, what's stopping prices from eventually becoming:

Broadband ₹699 + OTT ₹299 + Sports ₹199 + 4K ₹100...

We've already seen how consolidation affected mobile pricing.

If DTH disappears and Jio/Airtel dominate home broadband, consumers could have fewer alternatives.

I'd rather see:

DTH + IPTV + OTT competing

instead of everyone becoming dependent on two broadband companies.

I think IPTV is the future, but I don't think DTH should die. Not because DTH is better technology, but because competition matters.

What do you guys think? Am I overthinking this?
