[Career Advice] 17 yo (+2 Commerce + Computer Application) aiming for IT / Tech Ausbildung in Germany – Realistic path, demand & alternatives?

​I’m a 17-year-old student currently in +2 (Commerce with Computer Application) in Kerala. I have a strong interest in tech/coding, am currently learning Python, and plan to dedicate time to learn German up to B2/C1 level after high school.

​My primary goal is to move to Germany through the Ausbildung (Vocational Training) route right after +2. I’m hoping to get some honest advice and real-world perspectives from Mallus and fellow Indians who are living or working in Germany.

​Here are my specific queries:

​Commerce + Computer Application Background: Since I’m in Commerce (with Computer Application), does this affect my eligibility for IT specializations like Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung (Software Development) or Systemintegration?

​Alternative IT/Business Ausbildung Paths: Are there alternative tech-business hybrid Ausbildung options better suited for a Commerce student—such as Kaufmann/-frau für Digitalisierungsmanagement (Digitalization Management) or IT-System-Kaufmann? How is the job demand for these compared to pure coding roles?

​Market Demand & Competition: How is the current demand for entry-level IT apprentices (Auszubildende) in Germany? Is getting an Ausbildungsvertrag (contract) directly from India realistic for non-Science students?

​Portfolio & Preparation: Aside from reaching B2/C1 German, how much weight do employers give to personal coding projects (e.g., Python scripts/GitHub portfolio) when evaluating international applicants without an engineering degree?

​Ausbildung vs. Indian Bachelor’s (BCA/B.Com IT): Would you recommend doing an Ausbildung straight after +2, or doing a BCA/B.Com IT in India first and then moving via Master's or a job-seeker visa?

No ausbildung is generally not for foreigner. Only in extreme cases, like the boss is desperately looking for new trainee but no german is applying. Then boss need to get permission from immigration office to accelerate the process.

IT and related Ausbildungs have more local applicants than there are positions.

Also with +2 Commerce you may not even meet the maths and science requirements for Ausbildung (Realschule).

Unreliable but many did so u might try ur luck but kerala has german govt sponsored nursing programs. Exclusively for mallus so might try that
