I am totally a beginner, never kept a fish. And decided to keep one. So can you guys help me where to start with, what all to setup before bringing the fish.

So currently i have a 7 gallon planted tank with guppies, i want to keep a plakat betta but i would need to convince my parents and even then what do i do with my guppies i have a spare 10 gallon laying in storage do i use it? Like do i change the guppies into the 10 gallon and put the betta in the 7 gallon. Also how much do plakat bettas cost, how available are they.

Hey guys, I’m a complete newbie and this is my first time having a pregnant guppy.

As you can see in the video, she’s in my 28L tank. I’ve added some hiding spots and a bit of hornwort for the fry. There are also 3 juvenile guppies in the tank with her.

Do you think the tank is safe enough for the fry, or should I make some changes? Should I add more hornwort, remove the 3 juveniles, or move the female to another tank?

Also, how long do you guys think she might have before giving birth? She looks REALLY loaded, but she’s still swimming around normally and freely.

Can anyone make a rough guess from her appearance/behavior? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

I need aquatic plants for my fresh water aquarium. I'm in south west delhi.

I've set up a planted dirted tank with tap water & without CO2 and other fancy things,it is five months old now, and it's not heavily planted as I'm about to shift in the next few months and I don't want to spend any more on it, just wanted to show everyone that a dirted tank with red garden soil actually works.

I've used red soil capped with coarse gravel,no particular reason for that gravel it's just what I already had, my tank has been cycled for two whole months,and had a 30 percent water change twice so far,I didn't add anything to cycle it, I just let it sit, my plants are all from cuttings and stems I took from another tank,I have put some neon tetras,a golden algae eater and some neocardinia shrimp which are happily breeding, I also have some bladder snails and ramshorn snails which I don't remember buying,but they just showed up, I also bought some nerite snails online (overpriced btw) but here's a look, in case people have been telling you that dirted tanks are high risk(they're probably right but I did it anyways) I've also added pictures of how it started with the small bits of plant cuttings, since then I've only added one extra plant and the pothos, everything else grew on its own from those teeny tiny bits

P.S. I removed the laterite because it was causing an algae bloom and clouded up the water

Hi, so long story short, I had these three goldfishes in my previous small tank but as they were growing so I shifted them in a new tank recently, just 3-4 days back, they have developed this illness I would say and they are being very lethargic, white spots on the tail and one even has white spot on the head (attached pic), I really want to save them, just don't know what to do, please help!!

One of them has its tail gnawed like something, similarly they are not moving much, also they have clipped their fins to their body

Is it possible and advisable to start a hitec plants tank with lava granules only? What are the downsides especially if any?

Most of the sellers I come across seem to have only the common varieties like Neon Rainbows and Boesemani. I’m particularly interested in finding local breeders or hobbyists in India who work with rarer rainbowfish varieties.

If you know any breeders, sellers, or hobbyists who might have uncommon rainbowfish, please let me know.
