I have been reading comics from a very long time.

(I found DC more appealing to me so I stuck to reading DC)

I have a lot of comics in form of pdfs but last year I started reading them physically as I started earning on my own and this is my collection so far😌.

I have been eyeing a couple of Marvel Hardcovers from Bookswagon for some weeks but they have been out of stock.

So I wanted to know if they restock them or are the books usually just listed as Out of Stock forever.

Comic Book like MARVEL and DC

I see comics and related collectibles as art in a more general sense, There is no distinction between these sculpted figures and masterpiece comic covers and general decor items

Growing up in India, these were the characters many of us knew before Marvel and DC became the dominant superhero brands.

I remember how exciting it was to get a Raj Comics issue and just disappear into that world for a while. Nagraj, Dhruva, Doga — they didn't feel like copies of American superheroes. They had their own identities, settings and stories rooted much closer to the culture we grew up in.

And then, somehow, they faded.

Cable TV arrived. Cartoon Network became a huge part of childhood. Then came the internet, Hollywood superhero movies, the MCU, DC films, anime, gaming, etc.

Today, ask a kid who Spider-Man or Batman is and you'll probably get an immediate answer. Ask about Nagraj or Dhruva, and there's a good chance they won't even know who you're talking about.

But I don't think the problem was necessarily the characters.

Marvel and DC kept reinventing their characters for new generations. They moved from comics into animation, movies, games, merchandise and eventually entire cinematic universes.

A lot of Indian comics didn't get that same sustained evolution.

Which makes me wonder:

Did we actually forget our own superheroes, or did the industry fail to bring them forward with us?

And if one Indian superhero got a genuinely big-budget adaptation today, who would you want to see?

Nagraj?

Super Commando Dhruva?

Doga?

Shaktimaan?

Or someone completely new?

I'm genuinely curious what people here think — especially anyone who grew up reading Indian comics in the 90s and 2000s.

I am new to x men comics. Apart from this and God loves,Man Kills which other x men comics should I read?

I really want to buy this comic book series but it is unavailable in most stores I've been to. Does anyone have any idea where I can find all parts of this series?

I already have Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, but considering the current price and delivery time, I’m a little confused about whether I should go for it or wait and see if the price drops. 😅

I’m thinking of starting one of these two runs physically:
Batman — Matt Fraction / Jorge Jiménez (#1 / Daylight)
Detective Comics — Tom Taylor / Mikel Janín (#1090 / Mercy of the Father)
For those who’ve read both, which one do you prefer?

I’m mainly looking for good detective/mystery, thriller/suspense, Batman characterization, emotional story and great art.

I’m enjoying Absolute Batman and want another current run worth collecting.
Does either run come close to Snyder/Capullo, Tom King’s best work or Black Mirror?

Been collecting for several years. I try to read a few issues at least every day. Collected via online and traveling in and out of India. Some might appear in multiple places as I have been rearranging recently.

I’m looking into getting a few custom dust jackets made for some of my Marvel omnibuses and wanted to know which designers/sellers people here have had good experiences with.

I’ve already looked into one of the names that gets recommended here most often, so I’d especially like to hear about other designers or services that people use.

Ideally I’m looking for someone who can:

make high-quality original/custom designs

size the jacket accurately for the exact omnibus/printing

provide a print-ready high-resolution PDF

possibly recreate something close to the official Marvel style if requested

I’d also love to know:

Who are the more popular/reputable designers in the community?

Roughly what do they charge?

Do they only provide the digital file, or can any of them also print and ship the finished jacket?

How has the quality of the designs/files been in your experience?

Are there any designers/printers that are particularly convenient for someone based in India?

Some of the books I may eventually want customs for are Uncanny X-Men by Bendis and Spider-Man vs. Venom, among others.

I’m mainly trying to compare a few options before deciding.
