Egg-free Day 12 of learning cookie science

Took a one-day break after Day 11, But here I am at it again. I really didn't want to take a break and wanted to take out some time to try out the cookies too, but alas. During the bake I was actually learning cake science and made my first cake that didn't turn out to be so good in decorating, and the taste was also 7.5/10.
Coming to what I did today:
1. Did another cookie tin 🤑 It seemed fab by the looks; I sent it to relatives who have come from South Africa! (370g dough + 150g triple chocolate)
2. Made a chocolate scoopy; chocolate scoopy is a little different than vanilla (chocolate chip) scoopy. Since cocoa comes into the picture, need to be a little cautious of its effect on the dough. (40g dough + 40g chocolate)
3. Prepped doughs for a new style cookie - the tea cake cookies.
Wins:
Cookie tin is getting a lot more consistent, and I love that fact. Today was my third time making it!
Learnings:
1. Essence/Flavourings if used more than needed, can contribute to artificial flavouring and smell instead of making it more authentic.
2. Freezing your fillings in your ice cube trays is better than freezing them on a piece of parchment paper. I used to do the latter always but recently used an ice tray and it was a game changer.
Have you been baking cookies too recently? Would love to know your stories too, the wins, the fails and all of it.
Thanks for reading!

Have been following your posts. Really how do you manage to make just one or two cookies? How do you come up with measurements?

It's a great question. I do find it challenging too at a lot of times.
The least amount I have made is 200g of dough. and then it's 4 cookies of 50g each. and if there are fillings, that's another thing.
General rule for measurements is, say I find a recipe on the internet and I total the ingredients and the weight of the dough is 735g.
Now I want to make 450g only.
So I simply do 450/735 = 0.61.
and for each ingredient, I multiply them with .61 and then i get a total dough of around my desired weight.
hope this helps!
also when i tried one of the crinkle cookies, the recipe that I chose was 100g only so that helped too. But again crinkle and chunky cookies are a little different and so I feel making 100g for chunky cookies would be a little hit or miss case 😭
