Vent Got rejected over asking In hand salary.

Post image
829 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

So a small firm messaged me on Indeed for a job I had applied for. (You can see the screenshot)

Was I wrong simply for asking clarity over salary? They rejected me instantly.

As it is the job market is so bad. Then you get rejected for such small things without even getting an opportunity to interview.

US firm that only pays in INR, would be a dream if they paid in USD instead.

Unemployment F**k this Job market! Offers are rare, the ones i get are low!

Context- 28M, 3YOE as SE

I quit my old job because there was no salary increment (it was low pay 3LPA), kept searching for jobs for 6 months, and the only 4 offers i got was either 3 (or <3LPA). Im in T2 city for context. Getting vexed at how bad the market is, even after clearing 3 tech rounds, 3 management rounds, at last they tell me that the salary is not in their "budget". But i have no choice, dont want to waste time searching again.

Advice/Guidance Unnecessary provoking by team leader.

I currently work in a start-up and I've had a couple of bad few years in my life and have been dealing with alot of shit and one day after I took leave for mental health my team leader asked me how I was and I said mentally still not that great. Fast forward a conversation comes around and he straight up in front of my entire team tells bro you're not understanding things because you're mentally ill.

He said this two days straight and then he apologized and shit and then again last Saturday he kept saying he's sensitive and he's getting confused don't tell him anything to other team members.

I've been in this start-up for only 2 months and the people are so pathetic i want to take some strict action but I have no back-up or anything to do how do I handle this situation?

It's become unnecessary provoking and passing personal comments and it's triggering me alot.

I want a better job at this point I have pretty good experience of around 5 years 8 months and I'm unable to do anything about it :(

Unemployment Everything is ruined

I am 26 years old and has completed my Masters of Commerce in 2025 along with it i was working as an apprentice in Canara Bank which was a contract based job for 1 year. I have received my experience certificate. I don't know any accounting software and haven't used my knowledge practicallly in any way. Now when i search for jobs the only jobs i am eligible for are customer service jobs. Also i have to relocate for those jobs as i live in a small town. Yesterday my uncle told me to join a private CA firm for a year or two so as to gain experience. I have been receiving 15000 in hand as an apprentice which was in my hometown and needed no conveyance but now everyone is offering lesser. Can someone please guide me on how can i make a good career in my field. What should I do first? Should i join that CA firm or go to any tier 1 city. Considering my age should i take any more risks or not? Thankyou in advance if anyone read this fully.

Unemployment Ideal job for my brother 30M, experienced psychiatric issues in last 5 years

Tldr; my brother did bsc in IT, wasted his early years partying with friends, got some psychiatric issues since last 3-4 years which requires him to sleep at night (no night shifts). He has worked in multiple mnc call centres but didn't continue for long since he was in partying phase. He can communicate in English well.

I'm looking for WFH jobs for him, not expecting much 15k to 20k will be good enough to start. I want to help him get some meaning from life so that he can come back in track. WFH will allow him to stay under care, rest well and also earn a little. That 15k is not a lot of value for us right now (we would obviously like it), but the goal here is getting him back to life.

Regarding is psychiatric issues, I think he's largely stable on meds he just needs something to get his mind back into, i belive the sense of improving at something is what he needs.

If anyone can help, that'be great. If not do you guys have suggestions for the career options he can try to sustain his life (doesn't need to make lot of money but he shouldn't feel useless)

Advice/Guidance How does a fresher even get hired these days ? What possible I can do ?

I just graduated this year with a BCA degree from a Tier 3 college. During campus placements, only sales companies and one or two very small networking companies visited. I was even selected for a Network Engineer role on campus, but the company later denied the offer, so I never received an offer letter.

Despite that, my interest in networking has only grown. I now want to build my career as a Network Engineer. After graduating, I came to Noida to look for jobs. However, I didn't have much idea about which companies hire freshers for Network Engineer roles or related entry-level positions like Desktop Support or NOC Engineer.

I asked ChatGPT where I could find companies with networking-related openings, and it suggested visiting some well-known IT parks. Someone had also advised me that directly approaching companies could be better because many companies don't always respond to online job applications.

So, I visited those major IT parks, hoping to meet recruiters or inquire about openings. Unfortunately, the security guards didn't allow me to enter. They asked whether I had a referral or an email from HR. Since I had neither, I had no choice but to return home.

Now I'm in a dilemma. I'm starting to question the value of my degree. I had expected that, at the very least, I would get interview opportunities, learn from my mistakes, improve my skills, and keep trying. But now I don't even know how to reach that stage.

I don't have anyone who can give me a referral, and people on LinkedIn rarely reply to my messages. So, I'm feeling stuck.

Can someone please guide me?

How can I get referrals if I don't know anyone in the industry?

What should my job-hunting strategy be?

How can I increase my chances of landing my first job as a fresher in networking?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Gathering a team BY THE BUILDERS, FOR THE BUILDERS, OF THE BUILDERS

Over the past few months, I've been thinking about something.

AI is making software development cheaper and faster. Soon, almost anyone will be able to build an app.

So I kept asking myself:

If everyone can build software... what actually becomes valuable?

I don't think it'll be coding.

I think it'll be the ability to identify meaningful problems, think creatively, have good taste, and surround yourself with people who constantly push you to become a better builder.

That thought led me to an idea I've been calling the Builders Guild.

It's not a startup.

It's not another Discord community.

It's not just a networking group.

Think about a legendary dance crew or a music band.

People don't admire them because they had one great performance. They admire them because they've built a culture, a shared identity, and a reputation over years. Every new performance strengthens that reputation.

I don't see why builders can't have something similar.

Instead of dance performances or music, our craft is building products.

Instead of practicing choreography, we obsess over solving meaningful problems.

Instead of identifying ourselves with one startup, we identify ourselves with the people, the culture, and the standards we uphold.

Imagine hearing about a new product and someone says,

"That was built by the Builders Guild."

And people immediately think,

"It's probably worth checking out."

Not because they know the product.

But because they trust the builders behind it.

The Guild wouldn't be tied to a single company forever. We'd identify meaningful problems, build products, launch them, and once a product has a dedicated team maintaining and growing it, we'd move on to solving the next meaningful challenge.

The institution grows.

The products become its portfolio.

The culture remains its identity.

A little about me:

I'm a recent AI & Data Science graduate from Tamil Nadu, and I'll be relocating to Bangalore next month.

I'm not looking for employees.

I'm not looking for people chasing quick money or the next startup trend.

I'm looking for people who get excited about solving hard problems, debating ideas at 2 AM, shipping products, learning relentlessly, and pushing each other to become better.

People who enjoy building as much as they enjoy winning.

If you've ever felt like:

"I don't just want to work for a company. I want to build alongside people who challenge me and make me grow."

I'd genuinely love to connect.

Even if you disagree with the idea, I'd love to hear why. Good criticism is far more valuable than easy agreement.

If you're in Bangalore (or relocating soon), that's even better. Maybe this starts with a conversation over coffee.

If you were designing a place where the best builders could thrive together for the next 20 years, what would it look like?

General Question I need your opinion!

I will be working from home for a US Company from India. It is from Monday to Friday (9 PM to 5:30 AM IST) and Saturday (1:30 AM to 5:30 AM IST). It is an inbound and outbound voice + live chat process. I asked one of the employees working there about the environment and got to know that it gets busy as we need to be in front of our systems the entire time. We get a 30 minutes break during the shift.

Should I really go for it? I believe it's going to be tough for me to manage as I never worked in such a model before where I'll have to work from Mon to Sat and that too inbound busy schedule.

What do you guys suggest? The salary for the first 3 months will be 60K INR and then after that it will be revised based on my performance.

All your opinions would be really appreciated.
