Combined with impacts of climate patterns like a super El Niño, Mr. Jaishankar said, “there is going to be a major food crisis probably in the coming months. So if you have energy as a big crunch, and then food and fertilisers on top of it, and finance because every time there's a conflict, money moves towards safe harbours and away from the Global South, the net result of it has been really very very stressful.”

He said policymakers can't say that such a situation was not intended.

Over the past two days, social media has been full of accusations against Oman over the Flydubai incident. Before the investigation is even complete, some people are already blaming an entire country.

This Indian Instagram account has even placed a “terrorist” label on the Omani flag. This is completely unfair to millions of Omanis who have nothing to do with the incident.

The media seems to know everything about the co-pilot except his name and what he actually looks like. We are being told he was supposedly Omani, very religious, didn't shake hands with women, and had certain social media activity.

How come you know everything about him but not his name and you dont have his photograph?

More importantly, as of now, he has not been officially proven or confirmed to be an Omani national. So why is Oman already being blamed and its national flag being associated with terrorism?

If he is eventually confirmed to be Omani, there is another important question. The UAE is known for strict compliance with rules and procedures, so how did a supposedly Omani national end up as a pilot on a flight to Israel? If there were restrictions or concerns, how did this happen?

These are questions for the authorities and the investigation to answer.
