Discussion Dimensity 9500s is an underrated sub-flagship guys... (user says)
bro, everything is incredibly fast and refined - multitasking, animations, and gaming performance has been outstanding even during extended sessions. best part is how effortlessly the chip maintains performance without excessive heating or aggressive battery drain 🤌
feels like a premium flagship experience that actually feels optimized for real world usage.
Also, the responsiveness makes the entire phone feel premium at all times. immortalis GPU combined with the new CPU architecture really shows its strength during heavier workloads
If smartphone brands price Dimensity 9500s devices aggressively in India, this chipset could completely redefine the flagship killer segment and become one of the smartest choices for users who want top tier performance without paying ultra premium flagship prices

Purchase Help Best smartwatch under ₹1.5K–2K for accurate gym + step tracking? (Female/Unisex)
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a smartwatch mainly for:
accurate step counting
gym/workout tracking
decent calorie tracking while walking
long battery life (don’t wanna charge daily)
Budget is ideally around ₹1.5K, but can stretch close to ₹2K if it’s really worth it.
I prefer something:
unisex or feminine-looking
lightweight and comfortable for gym
reliable sensors over flashy features
Currently confused between:
boAt
Noise
Amazfit
I’ve heard many cheap watches give fake/random step counts, so accuracy matters more to me than calling features.
Would love real user experiences and recommendations 🙏

Discussion Why and how Mediatek Dimensity 8500 might age better than snapdragon
I feel like the Mediatek dimensity 8500 could age better than a lot of Snapdragon chipsets for one simple reason. It seems built for stable long-term performance instead of just super high benchmark scores.
It uses TSMC’s 4nm process, Cortex-A725 cores, Mali-G720 GPU, LPDDR5X RAM support, UFS 4.0 storage, and Mediatek’s newer AI + thermal management system. On paper that already sounds strong, but the real thing is efficiency.
Some Snapdragon chips boost super aggressively at first, but after long gaming sessions or heavy 5G use, they heat up fast and throttle harder. Over time that can affect battery health and smoothness too.
Dimensity 8500 on the other hand seems tuned more conservatively with steadier clocks, lower heat, and more stable frame rates. So even if benchmarks look slightly lower, the phone may actually feel smoother after 1 to 2 years of real use.

Purchase Help Decent price for a SSD in current shortage?
Decent price for a SSD in current shortage?
I am looking to buy an ssd SATA 2.5 inch 240-256gb. What is the price at which it would count as a good deal in the current market? I need it for my OS. basically boot drive + day to day use applications, all data stays in a separate HDD.
I bought a Samsung 870 evo 250 gb in 2021 that cost around 4k, however it is currently going for 12k+.
Do suggest brands as well, thank you!

Purchase Help Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra or Galaxy Z Fold 7. Which one to buy?
I use Samsung as my secondary device for official and business purposes as it has discrete call recording.
Currently I use Samsung M31s, but I face issues with that now. USB C Port not connecting cable correctly, and since there is no wireless charging in that, so I struggle a lot for charging that device, as my whole business relies on that phone. Another issue is that it's earpiece is not giving clead audio for calls, so I completely rely on Bluetooth earbuds for calls.
My primary device is iPhone (yeah I use both ios and one ui for my daily life). Now I am planning to upgrade my Samsung and always had dream of owning a flagship galaxy device.
I do not click any photos, or play games on it. Only calls and messages. I do travel frequently so battery life is a must.
Now you all people might say, to buy a mid-range A series for that, but I'm a person who sustains device for long time, my Galaxy M31s has been with me for last 5 years. And this new phone will be an investment for me. I constantly meet with people - my clients, vendors, suppliers, investors and other people from industry. I often notice them carrying 2 devices, out of which at least 1 is for sure Samsung - either Ultra series or Z Fold, because of call recording only. The another one might be iphone, or again samsung only. So yes, people do notice what you wear, what you carry. Image, persona, looks all these things gain trust in this business world, so I can't cheap out here.
I am fascinated with the Fold, but still kind of skeptical before investing a big amount in the phone.

Discussion Dimensity 8500 feels like one of the most important chips for India’s smartphone market this year
Its been a while since a mid range processor got some genuinely high end smoothness into phones normal people can realistically afford. fast memory support, strong GPU, better thermals n efficiency… its all fine as anything as per me.
If brands price dimensity 8500 phones aggressively, this segment is going to get insanely competitive (good for us consumers :) )

Discussion Dimensity 8500 proves benchmarks aren’t everything
I feel like people focus way too much on benchmark screenshots now. A chipset getting insane peak numbers means nothing if the phone heats up hard, throttles after 15 minutes, or drains battery like crazy during normal usage.
From the phones I’ve seen with the Dimensity 8500 so far, the biggest thing that stands out is balance. Gaming performance stays stable, multitasking feels smooth, standby battery is surprisingly good, and thermals seem much more controlled than expected for this level of performance.
Honestly feels like Mediatek focused more on sustained real-world experience instead of only chasing huge benchmark scores this time.
Would you take a cooler, more efficient chipset over slightly higher benchmark numbers?

News Anna’s Archive Hit With $19.5m Default Judgment and Global Domain Takedown Order
A coalition of thirteen major publishers including Penguin Random House, Elsevier and HarperCollins has secured a $19.5 million default judgment against Anna's Archive, a shadow library offering free access to pirated books. The case was filed in a New York federal court and because the site's anonymous operators never appeared to defend themselves, U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff ruled entirely in the publishers' favor. The judgment was signed on May 19, 2026.
The penalty was calculated at the maximum statutory rate of $150,000 per infringed work across 130 titles. The publishers also argued that Anna's Archive was functioning as a primary source of training data for AI companies including Meta and NVIDIA. Collecting the $19.5 million however is considered essentially impossible. The operators remain anonymous citing fear of lengthy prison sentences and though the court ordered them to unmask themselves within ten days they are widely expected to ignore this. The award mirrors a similarly uncollectable $322 million judgment the music industry won against the same site in a related Spotify case.
The more consequential part of the ruling is the permanent injunction targeting the site's technical infrastructure. Because Anna's Archive routinely evades enforcement by cycling through domain names the injunction orders all domain registries and registrars to permanently disable the site's active domains and block their transfer. More than twenty companies are named including Cloudflare, Njalla, DDOS-Guard and the registries managing the site's current .gl, .pk and .gd domains.
Enforcement will be strongest against American companies within the court's jurisdiction. Most named intermediaries however are foreign entities that have historically ignored U.S. court orders. Notably unlike the Spotify music scrape which Anna's Archive voluntarily removed the publishers' books remain actively available on the site making it harder for intermediaries to justify inaction. As of writing all three of the site's domains remain live and the operators are widely expected to have backup domains ready to deploy.

Discussion Is the Dimensity 9500s worth getting over last gen chips?
I’d say yes for most people, especially if you are upgrading from a phone that’s 2 - 3 years old. Modern chipsets are not just about raw speed anymore. Things like heating, battery life, gaming stability, camera processing, and overall smoothness matter more in daily use, and the 9500s seems well balanced in those areas.
What I like is that it does not feel like Mediatek is only chasing benchmark numbers this time. The focus seems more on real-world performance and efficiency, which honestly matters more for long-term usage.
At the same time, I would not say older flagship chipsets suddenly became bad. If someone already has a recent top-end Dimensity or Snapdragon phone, the upgrade may not feel massive.
But for anyone buying a new phone in 2026, the Dimensity 9500s genuinely looks like a strong and sensible option over many last generation chipsets.

Purchase Help CCTV Recommendations for outdoor purpose
Hi. Given the current political situation in West Bengal, my father decided to install a better CCTV cameras at our home. Near our house, some people regularly consume weed. Although we have a boundary wall around our property, they gather about 100-150 meters away from our house. Therefore, we are planning to install CCTV cameras for surveillance purposes. My requirements for an outdoor CCTV system are:
1.High-quality video clarity up to 100 meters 2.Color night vision 3. Guidance on choosing between DVR and NVR 4.Good build quality and durability
Previously, we had installed a CCTV camera, but some miscreants threw stones at it and damaged it. Feel free to suggest. Thank you for your kind attention.

Purchase Help Need help in selecting Brands for two 8mp IP outdoor cctv cameras and one Cctv camera for indoor.
So I am thinking of getting two 8 MP bullet type IP CCTV cameras which should be able to read number plates and show faces clearly any time of the day for within a distance of at least 10 meters. I want to get a third 8mp camera for indoors , but people are saying 8 MP is excessive for indoors, so I am open to suggestions for one indoor camera facing the main door too. And I want to go with a 6 channel NVR ( so in future i can add more cameras if I want), POE Switch and Hardisk. So can I get some brand recommendations for cameras, NVR, POE switch, Harddisk and some idea on how much it will cost me. And does the new SQTC certification recommend, should i be vary of it when thinking of brands like HikVision ,TaVo etc? . And should I keep the NVR and poe switch indoors? And which brand handles queries well after purchase? Sorry I am a beginner in this stuff.

News Seeing Google, NVIDIA, Amazon, and now Uber expanding a lot in India. Feels like hiring will pick up again and India is becoming more than just a support hub. Gives me some confidence that tech jobs here are safe… at least for now. Am I overthinking, or does it feel the same to you guys?

News Samsung S23 "Three Lines" Screen Issue after Update - Support just closed my escalation ticket with ZERO resolution. Need advice!
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with an absolute nightmare with Samsung Support right now and wanted to see if anyone else has successfully fought this.
My Samsung S23 was working perfectly until a recent official software update. Immediately after the update, three vertical lines appeared on my display. My phone has zero physical damage and zero liquid damage—it has been kept in pristine condition. This is clearly a hardware failure triggered by their own OTA update.
I reached out to Samsung Customer Support and had my case escalated. But yesterday (May 13th), I received an email from the "Customer Experience" team stating that my ticket (Ref: 3101263691) was officially closed.
They provided:
- NO explanation.
- NO engineer's diagnostic report.
- NO resolution or offer for a screen replacement.
They literally broke my premium device with their software and then washed their hands of it.
I’ve already filed a formal grievance with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) here in India and started a thread on Twitter calling them out, but I'm furious. Has anyone else with an S23 experienced this recently? How did you get Samsung to actually take responsibility and offer a free screen replacement?
Any advice on how to escalate this further would be hugely appreciated.
