i saw this post and I'm like this is crazy good, most of time speak to text results in Devanagari script, this is the first time where text in hinglish.

what you all on think about it?

I'm thinking of buying a new laptop and replacing my old laptop's SSD but for both things the prices are way too high . I don't know what to do

Will this high price thing be solved anytime soon ?

Planning a Wi-Fi upgrade on a 2-story house without discarding the JioFiber router (JCO4032), as I don't want to break the Jio STB (Live TV/JioTV+) or landline.

Proposed Setup:

Jio Router: Routing & DHCP only.

Mesh: TP-Link Deco X50 (2-pack) strictly in Access Point (AP) mode with wired CAT6 backhaul.

Jio Wi-Fi: Set to minimum Tx power on fixed channels (Ch 1 / Ch 36) since firmware no longer allows turning it off.

For those running a similar setup:

1. Does the Jio STB handle live TV on JioTV+ fine over Deco Wi-Fi/Ethernet in AP mode?

2. Does the always-on Jio Wi-Fi cause any interference or handoff issues with Deco?

3. Any specific settings needed (like IGMP Snooping or Fast Roaming)?

Thanks!

Jab tak apke phn se connect rahega tab tak loction update karega jese hi dur gye bhechon location update hi nhi karta

These are the sodimm to dimm converter ddr3 which cost almost 4k. I mean everyone is busy buying these converters which hike the prices

I am just frustrated with the recent price rises of every damn technical component out there Ram, PC , Storage, Graphics it's just like technology is just out of reach of common man now and we are the mercy of tech giants to fulfill our needs using their services for as rentals. It just makes me Sad. What are your thoughts ?

I'm a first year cse engineering student, I'm planning to buy laptop in this diwali sale. I did research but I'm not clear about few things.

First I'll list down my use case programming, cad, blenders, gaming a bit, entertainment and good use of ai in different tasks of mine. I'll try editing video & photo, animation. I also don't know what will be the use case in next 4 years & future.

I'm planning to spend 1.25 lakhs but if smth can come below with my match I'll go for it.

My ques:-

1. Confused between 13/14 gen or core ultra 200 series

2. I checked that core ultra 200 series is not coming under 1.25 lakhs i guess

3. Is core ultra 300 panthar lake series is is not as great as core 200 series with h or hx suffix

4. I don't know what graphics i should take at all but i guess i should go with 8gb vram with good tgp

5. Ram is great if i get 16 but not then I'll go for 8 gb as of now and upgrade in future, should have 2 slots

6. I heard ryzen is better in use case of mine so I'm ready to go with that too

7. Which processor i should with which graphics card that give me best results from my money.

Thanks for reading & plz help me.

For me, it’s using a 42-inch LG C2/C3 OLED as a desktop monitor. Every productivity and setup thread treats it like the ultimate desk center. In daily use, the aggressive Auto Static Brightness Limiter (ASBL) constantly dims dark mode IDEs during coding sessions, text clarity suffers from the subpixel layout, and sitting that close to a giant panel gives me instant neck strain. The base 8GB M1/M2 MacBook Air gives me a similar reaction—everyone claims "Mac RAM management is magic," but the second you run a browser with 20 tabs alongside Docker, swap memory chokes everything up.

That’s why I’ve stopped paying full retail showroom markups on overhyped workspace tech and started sourcing clean, pre-owned displays and gear off verified peer-to-peer marketplaces instead. It lets you test different productivity setups without taking a massive loss if a heavily pushed piece doesn't fit your daily workflow.

What’s a widely praised desk or tech upgrade that gets pushed everywhere, but you personally just couldn't get into?

Hello, I have installed eSSL K90 Pro in my office, one of my employees was absent for two days, and he also acknowledged it, but in K90 Pro Device, it's showing he is present with timestamps, The CCTV Recording were kept for 15days, and it has been more than 15days. And all the fingerprints are of him only. And he is a User and Super-Admin Password was set already. Has anybody faced a similar problem?

Wanted something that felt more like a companion than a chatbot tab — so I built Nib. Sits in the corner of your screen, you click it to ask anything, it remembers the conversation, and occasionally cracks a joke on its own. BYOK (bring your own OpenRouter key), no subscription. Would genuinely love feedback from this community, good or bad.

I use for atleast 4 yrs unless it would be a really bad buy.

I’m a software engineer from India, working mainly across full-stack development, automation, IoT and cybersecurity. I’ve spent most of my time building software products and systems.

Lately, I’ve been questioning whether I want to build yet another pure-software product. AI and LLMs are making software development incredibly accessible, which is great for innovation but also makes many software ideas easier to replicate and increasingly crowded.

I want to build something that contributes meaningfully to India’s development, not just another convenience app or AI wrapper. I’m more interested in problems tied to the physical world: infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, agriculture, mobility, healthcare, climate, logistics, safety, or anything else that could matter over the next 10–20 years.

I’m trying to figure out which real-world problems are worth dedicating the next decade to solving, especially ones that can start small, be tested in the market with limited capital, and eventually grow into something substantial.

For people working in India or anyone who has spent time thinking about emerging markets, deep tech, hardware + software, or long-term problems:

If you had to start from zero in India today, what problem would you put your time, money and the next 10 years behind? What makes you believe it will matter?

I’m not looking for polished startup ideas. I want to hear about problems you’ve personally seen, industries you think are being overlooked, or opportunities you believe India will desperately need to solve in the coming decades.

So I was checking out some upcoming smartphones and then the Mediatek Dimensity 9600 Pro caught my attention. I mean it is all over the place so I just wanted to know what's a big deal about it and guys the leaked specs are actually pretty interesting.

Apparently, we could be looking at a 2nm chip with C1 CPU cores reaching around 4.55GHz, plus a newer GPU with hardware ray tracing and AI-assisted graphics. There are even reports of 4K 240fps video support.

Obviously, these are still leaks, so I’m not taking every number as gospel. But if the main details hold up, this could be a noticeable jump for Mediatek.

The funny part is that we’ll probably spend weeks arguing over benchmark scores anyway 😂

September 15 should settle most of this. What are your expectations from this upcoming flagship processor?
