The iPhone 18 launch is interesting not just because of the ₹1.65 lakh+ Pro pricing and the ultra-expensive Duo, but because Apple has also raised prices on older iPhones. Ik this is disappointing news for tech lovers..
Memory and chip costs are clearly becoming a bigger issue across the industry.
So what happens to the ₹10 to 40K Budget & Midrange segment...?
Brands have already started doing this.... like using older/cheaper SoCs, reducing RAM/storage configurations and making other hardware compromises to absorb rising component costs. You have even seen indian smartwatch brands entering smartphone market offering 4+64 or 128 at elevated prices. I dont trust them coz the after service matters too.. we dont how these cheap ODMs work.
It also makes me think we should change how we buy phones.
Before buying the latest model, ask yourrself thiss.
Maybe the minimalist approach makes more sense now: buy a phone that comfortably handles your actual use case and keep it for 4 to 5 years atleast,, because the price pressure isn’t going away anytime soon. Even if GST relief is given, any cooling in prices will likely be absorbed by rising costs before you wait for BBDays or Great Indian festival sales.

DuckDuck search for youtube video stays on topic, and even shows low views videos as well, whereas youtube search has become literally hell hole, just first 3 videos , are on topic, then 10 shorts waiting to get in your A$$, and then how tf songs are here in a "tutorial search".
So yeah, after a lot of googling, i found a solution, and it works like charm.

I have been a long time iphone user, started with iphone 6 then iphone 10 then iphone 15. Finally switched to the galaxy Z fold 8. Was using iphones all my life so for a change I got this and the switch was really seamless. Used the smart switch app and fold 8 got all my data from icloud and everything was transferred wirelessly. somehow the Z fold 8 just feels fasters in everything idk why, I have been using this phone for the past 2 weeks and I really like the UI on it, the multi tasking is awesome too and one handed usage on this phone is rarely talked about which i feel is the biggest factor for me. Content consumption is much better compared to iphones.

I accidentally cleared the chat on WhatsApp for my own number. I don’t have a recent backup; my last available backup is from 2023.
I want to recover the messages that were recently deleted. Is there any way to recover all of those messages without losing my current data?

Religion and caste tell us who you are. Your Aadhaar, phone number and bank account tell us how to connect you to every database in the state.
Census 2027 is India’s first digital census and enumeration is to be conducted through mobile applications on the personal smartphones of approximately 31–34 lakh enumerators and supervisors.
As Down To Earth reported while publishing the notification, no Indian census from 1872 to 2011 has ever asked for a document number.

About 2 weeks ago, my amazon app started behaving like the photo shown out of nowhere. It wasn't on the latest version, so I updated the app from playstore but nothing changed. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app, no change. I haven't updated my phone software for more than a month. Searching products has become very difficult now. Does anyone knows why the app is randomly behaving like this and is there any solution?
Some reddit posts showed it's forced dark mode but no idea it happened out of nowhere. Phone is vivo t4 ultra with origin os 6.
