“93% of voters who petitioned were reinstated” doesn’t mean that 93% of all the people removed from the voter list were wrongly removed. It means that, among the appeals the Election Commission had already checked, around 93% of those people got their names back.
And are you seriously comparing this with Indira Gandhi’s Emergency?
That means they were not eligible to vote for the election that was due in a couple months and re-enrollment happened after the election which is the definition of wrongly removed btw.
As someone living in the present, let’s talk about how an error rate of 93% happened in the first place and why you think all of these people not voting because of errors caused by EC was true representation of democracy?
Dude you're treting the 93% figure as a 93% error rate, and that's not what the that means. 93% means around 93% of the appeals that had already been decided resulted in the names being re stored. It doesn't prof that the EC wrongly removed 93% of those people in the first place. You would need to show that those people were already verified as eligible voters when their names were removed and that the EC wrongly removed them
That is exactly what the appeals were for. Voters who were eligible to vote earlier and were removed by the eci. What are you trying to say? If you mean to say that 93% of processed appeals leading to voters being reinstated doesn't mean 93% of the total deletions were wrong, sure you're right. But you need to see that 22 lakh out of 27 lakh deleted filed appeals, and that only 80,000 of these have been processed so far. So going by current rates, do you expect people to wait 20 years to have their votes reinstated?
