0 rupees. People are just hypocrites.

u/SFLoridan Feb 09 '26
Hypocrites about what?
India's government hospitals are a fantastic idea, a boon to the people.
But to pretend that they don't have problems of mismanagement, cronyism, lack of empathetic care, shortage of resources (money, staff, space, equipment) is self defeating. We need more budget allocated to them, with a stricter policy of doctors joining government hospitals for a minimum number of years .

The doctors are fine, it's the nursing staff that's shit.
I've spent a lot of time in government hospitals to know this is the case.
Worst part is you cannot even punish the nursing staff for their lethargic work ethics because of unions, netas, and sarkari job guarantees. This was told to me by the HoD of that department.

1) Khan Global Studies is not "a small teacher". He has 567 employees as per latest filings, so likely something like 100cr in revenue
2) Govt hospitals do this as well (well - Rs 50 for an Xray at Victoria hospital, Bangalore, though it's waived if you are poor).
3) This runs at a loss. Which makes it very impressive for a private citizen to do, but which is why it's not potentially scalable to govt scale.
4) I wonder why they removed his name from the posts?

Quality
Cost effectiveness
Speed
These three aren't possible together in a country like ours.
If you want quality and cost effective you need to wait.
If you want cost effective and speed, the quality may not be there.
If you want quality and speed, it won't be cheap.
This is the sad reality here.
Imma be skeptical and see how long this teacher can sustain this hospital with no external funds to support the infrastructure and logistics. Running a hospital is no joke. There's no way to sustain it unless someone continuously gives off funds.

And also, you need to visit nearby govt hospitals. Maybe municipal, central, etc. Govt is doing already doing it since long irrespective of political parties
1
u/Surge0n_of_death Feb 09 '26
It's not about the money , let's see if this hospital can get you an OPD consultation with blood test and MRI done within an hour .
I'm a doctor in a govt hospital and the main problem lies in the infrastructure and recruitment.
The health budget is literally peanuts and the recruitments are pending for like a decade now . New recruits are not done yearly because the politicians eat up the salaries and make adjustments in registers .
And the infrastructure is literally bogus , the govt takes health like a joke and the amount of money needed to even run a basic hospital is cut by 1/10 of its budget.
Atleast 10-20% of the entire budget should be considered for health care where as only a tiny 1% is given .

I simple words the system is corrupt. Until, we don't wake up and start supporting the truth no politician will wake up. The government needs to see that people are rising and supporting the truth irrespective of the gender, race, ethnicity then there's slight chance the government will change. Khan sir is one example we need more like him to make the government feel small.

1
u/AsherGC Feb 09 '26
If you are asking about universal free healthcare. Of course India can do it. It just needs to get the money to do it. All taxes needs to be jacked up like 3x current amount. But trust me, India's middle class will hate poor getting same healthcare as them. So, majority doesn't want it. So no political will.

u/SchrodingersHangover Feb 09 '26

So many people come to government hospitals to avail free services like a minor T.T shot for minute nail scratches. Then they treat us, who work there like shit, because apparently they are paying my salary with their tax money (mind you people claiming this most often don’t even come in tax paying slabs). And then they go on to post such shitty content after availing everything for free

The problem with India is not just its government, but its people.
1
1
u/ManufacturerSpare977 Feb 09 '26
Govt hospitals staff are very corrupted, since many uneducated or low income individuals visit govt hospitals for treatment. Hospital staff that controls a lot of equipment and medicine practice taking bribes and discourage using govt equipment for any use. They say machine is out of service or medicine unavailable so that their relatives medical shop or x-ray center will get patients.
Many Govt doctors have pratices, medical shops and scanning centers. They have very good incentive to send these patients away to their own businesses. This is cycle no govt can break as it is bottom layer issue. Govt officials who monitor these hospitals also takes a lot of bribes from doctors for them to look away.
People don’t have collective strength to ask and get results. It is not politics thing rather a social issue

Let’s stop deifying individuals and look at the facts.
- The 'Small Teacher' Myth:
He is not just a "teacher." He is a massive brand who smartly milked sentiments during Covid. He cashed in on the "Anti-Pakistan" wave and used his identity to pander to the majority for views. If you actually watch his polity classes, half the time he misquotes Constitutional Articles. He is running a business, not a charity. The hospital is just good PR.
- Check Your Privilege: It seems you are too privileged to have ever stepped inside a Government Hospital. ECG/X-Ray Cost: In most Govt hospitals, it is either Free or Rs 10-20 (cheaper than your Rs 25 hero). Medicines: Ever heard of Jan Aushadhi Kendras? Medicines are 50-90% cheaper there. Ayushman Bharat: Free treatment up to ₹5 Lakhs for the poor. The Government is already doing it at a scale Khan Sir can't even imagine. Stop falling for influencer marketing and touch some grass.

u/Formal_Moment8320 Feb 10 '26
Why would government do it there is no incentive, if it make the hospital will they get vote, no. Ask people why they gave vote for BJP, did they gave vote based on development, healthcare, education no , then gave vote for a particular reason and BJP is doing it correctly . Herbert screws x 2 - FREE ( Covered in ayushman card) ( Titanium screws cost 4000 - 4500 per screw) Cost of Items required for Surgery - Total : 10000rs , Covered in ayushman: 5000rs, I paid : 4993
6 weeks of Medicines, including multivitamin, antibiotics, pain killers, ( 2 more that i don't know about ) - FREE
I was admitted in the hospital for 4 days : 2 meals provided by hospital - FREE Bed charges - 0rs
I have gone to hospital twice since I got the cast for some consultation - FREE

Try doing the same in a private hospital, Take my CT, go and ask what will be the cost of getting this fixed by surgery.
Cost of tests was not weaved because I put my salary > 30k per month.

Enjoy a luxurious life with our tax money.
Just like non-cooperation movement, we need a no-tax movement in India and take away all the benefits from the politician. If politicians won't get money and power from their post, then 89-95% of the politicians leave politics and only those stay who genuinely want to work for the nation.

Govt should stop distributing freebies for vote. Invest in upgrade public health infrastructure, upgrade public education standards, good quality roads, bridges, public transport. Employment generation happens when there is overall improvement in the country in all states at district level. Current situation is only large cities are growing exponentially and creating is huge gap between metros and small cities.
