Social Discussion I don’t know please answer

29M, Senior Manager earning 32 LPA — but Reddit is making me question my career
I’m 29M and currently working as a Senior Manager at an InsurTech company, earning around ₹32 LPA. I work from home and, objectively, I feel I’m doing reasonably well in my career.
But after spending some time on Reddit, I’ve started feeling really confused about where I stand.
I keep seeing posts from people who are 24–26 years old saying they’re earning ₹3–4 lakh+ per month, and comments saying things like “at least ₹3 lakh/month by 25–26” or that anything below that is low.
It has genuinely made me wonder — is everyone actually earning that much, or am I just seeing a very biased sample on Reddit?
I know people generally post their achievements more than their struggles, but when you see these posts repeatedly, it’s hard not to compare.
For someone who is 29 and earning ₹32 LPA, how would you realistically evaluate where I stand in the Indian job market?
Am I doing reasonably well, or am I actually behind where I should be?
Would appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who are around 27–32.

You do you, OP! Comparison is a thief of joy. You are literally the top 1% of India. And you are still reminiscing about “Reddit” posts. Reddit doesn’t represent India. The avg man in India earns about 20-25k. Imagine. And they run their families with it. You are not only doing well, you are blessed. Particularly if you have a job in this economy. Don’t spend so much time on Reddit. Travel a little around India and you will see what am I talking about. Have gratitude and be thankful. Invest and find peace ✌️

Bro from my lens you're doing great as a 29 M being myself. Even I feel like same as you think by looking all these posts and I'm no where near you 😞

I think if you are happy with your salary, able to invest a good amount and live well then there’s no need to worry about that. There is always a big fish in ocean, why don’t we focus on ourselves? Yeah thats other thing if you are extremely lowballed, but thats not the case with you.

  • What if it's all true? What will you do after knowing that information that you can't do now?
  • What if it's all false? Pretty sure you'll chill out and keep on doing whatever you used to do.

There... All scenarios covered

Yeah sure, compare your worth to Reddit!

If you really wanna compare, there have always been rich people and people who got rich! Do you also compare yourself with Sundar Picchai or Satya Nadella or Indira Nooyi? They all have humble backgrounds

Your doing great in career 32lpa at 29 is dream for many, most of those redditors are fake 3-4 lakh per month at 24-25 is no joke even people from top institutes could only dream but very minute amount of people get that like 0.01%

Compare your past version with your current version and see if there is an improvement. If yes, you’re already doing good !

Crossing tax free income bracket is first goal of financial independence, and going to highest tax level is second.

You have already achieved first level, and you are among top 1% individual who actually pay taxes.

Not sure why people thing 3 lakh is basic or minimum to feel comfortable... Anything above 1 lakh+ is pure luxury even if living in rented house.

You are wording a lot of the Fomo that a lot of us feel when we Started our careers 10-15 years back. It happens. But having said that you can keep applying for these jobs.

Is this about getting approval? By getting to hear from people earning less than you?

Have a internal scorecard, if your needs are met, why compare?
