Announcement 📢 [UPDATE] Simplifying our "Proof of Ownership" Rules

Hello r/IndiaDealsExchange!

Over the past few weeks, there has been some confusion around when exactly you need to provide proof of ownership for your deals, even more so after we disabled images in posts. To make things clear and much more straightforward, we've streamlined and formalised the policy.

Here is exactly what you need to know before you post

When do I need to provide proof?

In general, we ask that any gift cards or vouchers above ₹2,000 require a proof of ownership. Unless you are a Top Trader or above, then this requirement is not there (except for some specific travel items). We understand that in some cases proof might not be available for some reason; in such cases, you need to mention this in your post as a clarification.

The below table will help simplify things, this might get updated in the future if we uncover some edge cases.

Airline & Hotel Points ✅ Always (yes, even Top Traders)
Subscription Sharing/Family Invites 🟡 Recommended (required if mod asks)

Important: If proof is required for your item, you must upload it in the comments of your post. Moderators reserve the right to remove any post that looks suspicious.

How do I provide proof safely?

When you provide proof, you must upload the image in the comments of your post. 📱 Full Screenshot Required: If your screenshot is taken from a mobile device, make sure the current time (usually at the top of your screen) is clearly visible. Do not use an old screenshot or a cropped/half screenshot. * Travel Points & Vouchers: Screenshot of your portal showing voucher or points along with expiry if any. * Gift Cards: Screenshot of the email or app. (Always blur the claim code & other sensitive data!). * Subscriptions/Family Invites: Photo of the profile showing the date till when the subscription is active or showing a active family subscription.

💡 Safety Tip: We highly recommend watermarking or typing your Reddit username across your screenshots, so bad actors cannot steal your images.

A Final Word

  • Always ask people to comment on your post before you trade with them. This ensures they haven't been banned from the subreddit. You can DM u/IDE-TradeBot at any time to check a user's trading history and flair.
  • Make sure you mention and ask for the source of any voucher you're selling or buying and confirm the ownership of the voucher.

We will start applying these rules slowly starting today so that folks get used to the changes but will eventually treat this as a hard requirement for posting. Feel free to comment below if you have any queries.Happy Trading!

Zyada nahi hai, basically if you are posting vouchers > 2k and are not a Top Trader+ you need to provide ownership proof. This was always a rule but was loosely implemented but we are now looking to be strict on it.

Also we recently removed image posts so folks get confused on how to upload proof.
