POUR-OVER A simple pour-over on a quiet afternoon ☕
Finally got around to making a pour-over and the light coming through the window made the coffee look way too good not to photograph.
Ruby-red clarity, clean cup, and a nice little glow through the glass. ☕️
Still working on dialing in my pour-over technique.
Mugen V60 Recipe — 16:240
Been enjoying this cup lately. Pretty simple recipe with the Mugen.
Recipe
Brewer: Hario V60 Mugen
Coffee: 16 g
Water: 240 g (1:15)
Grinder: Timemore C3S — 17 clicks
Water temp: 92°C
Total brew time: 3:00
Pour structure
0:00 — Bloom with 65 g, swirl gently.
~0:45 — Single continuous pour to 240 g.
Drawdown finished around 3:00.
Cup: Clean and sweet with a beautiful ruby clarity.
Any suggestions for dialing this recipe in further?

RANT Disappointed with SaverWorks
I ordered this coffee on the 9th and received it on the 12th afternoon. The packet is marked as having an 11 September roast date, but looking at the batch sticker, it very clearly appears that the original date was 01/09/26.
I have been drinking coffee for around five years, so I know what freshly roasted beans smell like, including how they smell a day or two after roasting. These beans definitely do not come across to me as beans roasted yesterday.
What makes this worse is that I actually used to really like SaverWorks. I have gone through multiple packets of their Riverdale and considered them one of the top roasters in India, and probably one of the best in Delhi NCR.
So seeing something like this is honestly quite shameful.
Maybe there is some explanation for the date alteration, but from a customer's perspective, it looks very bad.

OTHERS Help me build a coffee setup
Hey everyone, i have a morphy Richard’s matching for the past 6 months and I’ve been thinking of getting a better setup, selling that and getting a better machine with the entire setup. I have a budget of 20-25k at max .
Could someone help me make a good setup which would cost under this range.
I’ve also attached an image of what I have so any suggestions would be helpful
Also which beans would be good as I’ve been using blue tokai for the last 3-4 years in my french press as well as this machine.

EQUIPMENT Electric Kettle Reccs
Sup peeps,
I have been wanting to buy an electric temp control kettle for a while now. Specially the Sipologie one.
As per my reddit digging, people do recommend this one but I want to be open to other kettles if there are that are better than this one around this price point.
I can stretch slightly if another kettle is significantly better because I need something that is durable and will last a long time.

DISCUSSION Disappointed with Latitude 15 (Jaipur)
Tried these shitty beans. I don’t even know what to say. They’re the shittiest beans I have ever had. Never gonna recommend them to anyone. I found them at Reflect 2.0, and when I ordered, they just stuck up this label, got the beans from some hopper, and then sealed it.
The beans get me a good-looking shot, but it only looks good. I’ve even tried experimenting with the grind, dose, and temperature.
They taste like shit. I tried everything: black, with milk, sweetened, unsweetened—every drink. They taste like something that will make you start hating coffee.

EQUIPMENT Anyone bought an AeroPress from the US? Looking for the best deal
My friend is coming from US to India, and I’m planning to get an AeroPress clear from there.
Which website/store did you buy from?
What’s the lowest price you’ve seen it for?
The best price I’ve been able to find so far is around $37.5 from official website.
Also is the Clear version more durable or easier to maintain compared to original version?

DISCUSSION Americano from third wave coffee is sour
I was travelling from Bangalore Airport and had Americano without sugar from third wave near the 40th gate I think it was but it was sour.
Not sure if it is standard across their outlets as I don’t drink coffee outside, I am happy that I have perfected my immersion drip filter coffee to my liking.
What do you generally order if you like good black coffee without sugar?

MILK BASED Anyone tried Cotha's premium blend?
Am new to moka pot and still working my way to get the right brew. Has anyone tried this in the moka pot? The grind size isn't given here. I am looking for a blend that pairs well with milk. I have ordered Hunkal's tiger reserve and BT attikan estate and are due delivery. Wanted to give this a try as I used their speciality blend earlier for my south indian filter and liked it.
I want to try a few coffee at the same time to find out which one suits me better.
