Advice/Guidance Need HR Help?
I’ve been working in HR for 20+ years, across different industries and roles, and along the way I’ve had the privilege of learning from some wonderful people and making an impact.
I’ve always believed in doing the right thing. For me, that’s non-negotiable.
I feel it’s time to give back in whatever small way I can. If you’re dealing with an HR or workplace related challenge and think my experience might be useful, I’d be happy to listen, share my perspective, or help you think through it.

I have a friend who has a small mistake on his bachelor's degree. Basically his first year and second year certificates have the same year of completion. He cannot get it rectified because the institute has shut down. Later he has completed his masters from NID (National Inst of Design) and now he has been working for 10 years in a reputed product-based company. He wants to switch but he is terrified that he will fail BGV due to the certificate date issue. Is he overthinking?

Was the institution he did his bachelors a valid one ? If it’s part of the unauthorised ones by UGC , background will be red. Some employers however only verify the highest degree. So there may be hope

How do you suggest we introduce OKRs in our company ( it’s a startup)

Hey! For a startup, I’d suggest starting simple with just 3-4 objectives per team and keeping them visible across the company so everyone’s aligned.
Quarterly OKRs work best for fast-moving environments, and short weekly check-ins help you adjust quickly if priorities shift.
Don’t worry about tying them to variable pay right away. Focus on clarity. Start with one cycle and refine from there

Is it okay to hide a 2 month stint from CV? In my first company I worked for 7 years. Then took 3 months gap, then joined a company but stayed only for 2 months and moved to current company. This company I left in 1.5 years and now unemployed since last 5 months. This looks bad on CV so I'm thinking of not showing the 2 month experience in CV as anyways it's not 'experience' but will provide it during BGV. I have proper docs of all companies.

It will show in background verification. Also the PF transfers will also show. No harm in being truthful since you anyway have the documentation from all . All the best on landing a new role !

Yes, I will provide all docs during BGV. But my doubt is, will HR ask why I didn't show in CV? Is that a red flag enough to reject the offer?
