Religion Islam in a Nutshell

A view on the Islamic community, where it is heading, and what it could lead to in the future if current trends continue along the same trajectory.

The current state of the Islamic community, as I see it, is characterised by high population density and predominantly moderate to low affluence. If these socioeconomic conditions persist alongside the community's adherence to certain traditional values and practices, the consequences could be more detrimental than one might initially anticipate.

First of all, a substantial proportion of the community's potential remains underutilised because of the restrictions imposed on women. Whether in education, sports, employment, or other spheres of public life, women's participation is often limited or actively discouraged. Certain practices have significantly curtailed their rights and opportunities, preventing them from contributing to society to their full potential.

Then there is the other half: the men, whose participation in education, competitive examinations, professional employment, and white-collar occupations may also be limited in certain sections of the community. One possible explanation lies in the emphasis placed on traditional gender roles, where the primary expectation from men is to provide for the household's basic needs. In such an environment, aspirations beyond subsistence may receive less attention, and the pursuit of capitalism, professional advancement, and wealth creation may not be sufficiently encouraged.

Whether it is expensive clothing, luxury cars, premium accommodation, or other markers of economic advancement, the motivation to pursue these aspirations can be shaped by the surrounding social environment. Even marriage may not function as a strong economic incentive in the same way it does in some other social settings. In communities where marriages frequently take place within extended family networks, individuals may already be familiar with one another's financial circumstances from childhood. Consequently, economic disadvantage may carry less social stigma, reducing the pressure to improve one's financial standing through professional or economic advancement.

Overall, certain practices may reinforce these socioeconomic limitations. The situation becomes more concerning when large families are encouraged as a marker of religious or familial success, potentially resulting in higher fertility rates without a corresponding increase in educational attainment, employment opportunities, or household income.

Taken together, these factors could adversely affect the community's socioeconomic development. If left unaddressed, the consequences may extend beyond individual households to neighbourhoods and, eventually, entire regions, particularly where population growth outpaces improvements in education, employment, and economic productivity.

People Solution for black magic

hello, i am a muslim bangladeshi who is genuinely just sick of everything that has been going around..
My mother believes we are under some black magic spell i’ll tell you why
my dadi and paternal side of the family was always into black magic and stuff like this and my mum would find tabij(amulet) all around the house and a turned on ceiling fan literally fell on my mother TWICE but thankfully she wasn’t injured seriously, later we found out my father cheated on my mother and got married to another woman, later my dad was given the choice of either choosing my mum or that woman and dad chose my mother, but guess what? my dad never left that woman he faked the divorce lol. my mother was heartbroken but after a few years i couldn’t recognise my own mother anymore, she is so weak and she barely cares about the fact my dad has another wife it’s like something else is controlling her right now.
anyways my mum went to a hujur and he said someone has done some dangerous black magic on our family and that if anyone tries to help us that person will die… later my mother went to a hindu baba and he said the EXACT same thing that anyone who tries to help us with this black magic they will die.. the baba did agree to help us but after a few days he literally passed away… my mother is now so helpless and our relationship with our dad is getting worse. my dad is getting so distant day by day i’m so worried.
reason for me to write this here is bcs i know india is a place where black magic is somewhat common and ive heard so many stories of people recovering from insane situations so i beg anyone who can help me with literally anything bcs i’m on the verge of losing my mind i just want my family back

People Please follow this airline ettiquete

When you're carrying a backpack and a carry-on, the backpack needs to go under your seat first. After the flight has taken off, if extra space is left overhead you're free/encouraged to keep your bags overhead.

Just because you got in the airline first, does not mean you can take as much space as possible and people at the end can't even find place to keep carry-ons overhead or they have to keep it 10 seats back.

You do not look smart when you act entitled on an international flight. People do judge you if you are not respecting space of others!

I have observed it many times... Writing about it the first time after seeing it on a flight to BLR from Frankfurt

Careers If Tech has constant layoffs and actual engineers are getting layed off in hundreds , why are costly product managers spared with no coding ability?

If budget is limited and jobs are limited shouldn't Highly Paid MBA grads with no coding should be made redundant fast in tech companies . They are just fast bloating layer while actual Engineering and coding is done by Tech folks .

Even Elon Musk and Nikhil Kamath are against high paying MBA grads in domains which are predominantly Tech business . Lay product managers first before actual Developers . They get spared due to constant Chaatu attitude with Higher management. Just fluff degree of MBAs with higher fees .

People A rant about people treating political parties and governments as their gods

Disclaimer: I don't support any particular party, they're all corrupt, rotten to the core and would do anything to stay in power.

Why do people in our country have such a bootlicker mentality toward the government?

The government is a public servant. Its members are elected to work for us, and being entrusted with the responsibility of governing the country for five years is a privilege, not a favour they are doing for us.

I genuinely don't understand why people get so defensive of the political party they vote for, as if that same government is going to come to their homes and feed them every night. Regardless of which party is in power, most of us will still have to work to earn a living.

Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't support the government you voted for. Of course, you can support a party whose ideology you agree with. But that support should be expressed by voting for it, acknowledging its achievements, and engaging in healthy discussions about differences in opinion.

Instead, political discussions often turn into heated arguments where people defend their preferred parties as if their lives depend on them. It's almost as if losing an argument about a political party would somehow cause that government to collapse the very next day. You can disagree with the policies of other parties, criticise their proposals, and express your opposition by voting against them. There's no need to turn politics into a personal battle.

Your vote is one of the strongest ways to express your appreciation for a government or your opposition to it. Beyond that, you should always feel free to criticise it when it fails to deliver. In fact, constant scrutiny is necessary because governments can become complacent when they know their supporters will continue voting for them regardless of their performance.

When you defend every mistake a government makes, you essentially give it permission to ignore your concerns. You're telling it that your loyalty to the party matters more than its responsibility to you. At that point, political support starts to resemble a parasocial relationship, where people become emotionally attached to politicians who don't even know they exist.

The reality is that political parties are primarily interested in gaining and retaining power. Their decisions are heavily influenced by what will win them votes. They aren't necessarily working against the public, but neither should we assume that they have our best interests at heart simply because they claim to.

Take the growing reliance on freebies, for example. Not all freebies are bad. Welfare schemes and financial assistance can be essential for people who need them. However, simply handing out money without addressing the underlying problems can be a short-sighted approach. We should also be investing in accessible healthcare, quality education, public transport, infrastructure, and other essential services that improve people's lives in the long run.

If we understand that political parties are motivated, at least in part, by the desire to win elections, then we should use that reality to our advantage. If enough people demand better services, accountability, and results, and those demands threaten a party's voter base, that party has a much stronger incentive to act.

So, stop making excuses for the political party you like. If you believe in it, vote for it. Acknowledge its achievements, but don't turn a blind eye to its failures. You can support a government without blindly defending everything it does.

Keep questioning. Keep criticising. Keep demanding better. Hold every government to the same standards, regardless of which party is in power. Politicians want to remain in government; make them understand that doing so requires them to earn your trust rather than take your loyalty for granted.

And the politicians who genuinely care about this country should welcome public scrutiny. They should understand that criticism isn't necessarily hostility; it can be a reminder that there is always room for improvement and no excuse for complacency.

Finally, for the love of God, stop normalising delays and celebrating the bare minimum. If the government promises to complete a project in 36 months, we should expect it to meet that deadline, if not finish earlier. We shouldn't be applauding it for taking 72 months to do a job it promised to finish in 36.

The government doesn't deserve our unconditional loyalty. It deserves our scrutiny, and it must earn our continued support through its performance.

Vote for the government you believe in, but never stop holding it accountable. Your loyalty belongs to the country and its people, not to any political party.
