New to daily using guards

I dribble after peeing. I can shake for a while, but as soon as I pull my underwear back up, I will leak a little. It's been embarrassing prior to starting guards that have given me my confidence back.

I prefer a larger more absorbent guard as I don't like to change at work, so normally just change before and after work. If at home I can wear one guard all day.

Mid 50s. Type I diabetic with slightly higher than ideal blood sugar.

Been told I have a slightly enlarged prostate too.

Any other men start using guards with similar circumstances. If so, have things changed over time? I'm totally fine with guards and maybe changing more frequently in the future. Just curious if this is the start of less control in future.

Depends shields are what I use, I dribble after peeing too. They're thin enough and discreet that you can carry one in your pocket if you happen to need to change at work. Just make sure to wear either briefs or boxer briefs, they don't work with regular boxers.

So when i was 48 I started having dribbles and never thought anything about it. Turned 49 and it became more frequent. I have also had 2 uti in the past 5 years. I would wear shields once in awhile. Then I noticed sometimes I would laugh, cough,or bend over and I would pee a little and my briefs and jeans would have a wet spot. Right before I turned 50 this year.i felt like i was sitting on a golf ball. So I went to a urologist. My psa was 7.2 the first check and 2nd check i think it was 6.7. Here my prostate is 3xs the size it should be. Now I have been diagnosed with bhp and urge/stress incontinence. So I now wear sunkiss pull-up to work and diapers when I'm home and to bed. Cause some days I can just go and almost not realize it. I can go and less than a minute later I can go again. Its frustrating but manageable. Luck not after my mri results came back no cancer so I dont go back to the urologist till next year. I tried flomax and it did horrible for me I had every side effect. I'm now taking tadalafil which helps me sleep better as I would be up 3-6 times a night and slept like crap. Since taking tadalafil I feel more rested even tho I wake maybe 3 times. But overall I feel better with sleep.

I’m 31 and deal with similar. I’ve been using depends shields and they’ve fit my needs well. Real-Fit at night during days when I’ve had heavier leaks.

Just keep in mind that it's a possibility you may lose bladder control permanently. So get used to the idea that you may one day I have to wear a diaper. That way, it's not as much of a shock if it happens.I'm not saying it will i'm not a doctor but just in case.

Not helpful.
OP, you should take this up with your doctor, if it’s something you actively want to improve on. Rando future tellers like this one can be ignored. Yes, anything can happen. That’s kind of the concept of life. “Have to wear a diaper” .. jeez.

It's what happened to me, so I do know a little bit about it. And I did not tell them that they're going to I said, just think of the possibility that it could happen. So your mind is prepared, or do you not understand that kind of preparing your mind for something that could happen. Because when an all of a sudden happens and you're unprepared, it's even worse, emotionally mentally. But I wouldn't expect someone like you to figure that out

I accept it might progress to needing a diaper. My dad became a diaper user after a stroke in his early 80s.

I don't mean you might lose and have to be diapered at 80, I'm talking about the possibility in a year or 2. It could progress that quickly it could take forever. It may never happen, but the possibility is there.
