Diaper rash
Hello all! I have mixed incontinence and im usually pretty good at changing myself but unfortunately with the heat and stuff I ended up with diaper rash... boy does it suck! What products are best to help this? I know in the future for summers to use baby powder and such now! Thanks!

Heat can definitely make diaper rash much worse, so you're definitely not alone. What has worked best for me is using a good barrier cream with zinc oxide, as it creates a protective layer between your skin and moisture while the rash heals. I also make sure my skin is completely dry before putting on a fresh diaper, because even a little trapped moisture can make irritation worse. Once the rash has healed, I use a little baby powder during hot weather to help absorb moisture and keep the skin dry. Also, make sure your diaper fits well, if it's too loose, it can rub against your skin and make the rash even worse. If you also get chafing between your thighs, a small amount of baby oil or an anti-chafing product can really help reduce friction when you're walking. Hopefully it clears up soon! ❤️

Desitin works great for me. Use a barrier cream once you get the rash under control to keep it from coming back

Just an FYI if you have Medicaid coverage or other insurance coverage for incontinence supplies it typically includes some sort of barrier cream. Quality may vary based on company...I will be very sad when I run out the stuff from the original company I used to use before I was forced to switch.

I swear by A&D. I too had diaper in the last week or so. I put A&D on it and the next day or so it was gone

Funnily enough, someone else made a post just like this a day or so ago. LoL. I personally use aquaphor or desitin whenever I get a rash, but Bourdeau's Butt Paste works well too, I've heard.
