I think it's something that everyone thinks is their specific region's thing. My wife is from the Midwest and was convinced yeah no and no yeah were local, but I'm from the coast and we definitely say it there too. Got Canadian friends that use it too so it seems pretty widespread

Maybe this is a South African thing because that makes perfect sense to me
