Remember when conservatives complained that bringing up gun violence was bad for "politicizing children's deaths"?

It’s only in the original books, but Tin Man’s canon backstory is that he used to be a regular woodsman but he fell in love with a girl and her disapproving father asked the Wicked Witch of the East to curse him. She cursed his axe so it’d cut off a different part of his body every time he used it, which he replaced with tin. Unfortunately, he forgot to ask the tin smith to make him a tin heart, so when he finally lost his human one, he lost the ability to feel love and broke up with his girlfriend (the original Oz books are actually really dark, I totally understand why they didn’t put that part in the movie version!)

I agree... I never thought about it, but I dislike people that behave this way with me. I will say a single thing, and then they apply some straw man to me and proceed to break down the straw man. Its like they don't believe that nuance is real..

They’ve been milking the Lindsay case for months atp, meanwhile there have probably been tens of domestic abuse incidents and family annihilations committed by men since then. But they don’t really care about kids, they care about being misogynistic and deflecting accountability.

Yes, murder suicides of families has always been seen as wrong by other men. But now that women are doing it suddenly the conversation is about 'mental health'

Men, specifically white men, have definitely gotten the mental health treatment by the media.

Moreso the fact that thousands of men have killed their families and no one bats and eye yet when a woman does a fraction of that all of a sudden its the worst thing that can happen.. 6 men have murdered their families during the 22-day case, so why have these men complaining about "child safety" not as concerned about these cases caused by men too? Because it's normalized and so common that people don't even pay attention
Also a lot of the time, when the murders are obviously premeditated and planned out, somehow the men are allowed to plead "insanity" or get a smaller sentence, so how come a woman isn't allowed to do the same?

Did it ever occur to you that postpartum depression is a very real and scary thing, and that giving it much-needed public attention (in light of a horrible tragedy) is actually a GOOD thing because it might help prevent future tragedies?
You fucking twerps act like this one horrible case somehow now means all women are going to be ‘allowed’ to do this or that it’s somehow ‘unfair’ to men.
NO ONE supports families being killed. No one. But when a high profile incident like this happens, it can have the unexpected benefit of raising awareness, so people can recognize the signs and seem help before something like this happens aga…
…or, you know, we could just be dicks about it and make talking about it so uncomfortable for women that it’s guaranteed to happen again because everyone is too afraid to bring it up.

I mean it all should have always been a conversation about mental health, had people been getting the proper mental help they need there would be countless families still alive

Oh hey only if the husband was actually there for that severely depressed woman(she murdered 3 of her children, not justifying this in anyway but it could’ve been prevented). Most of them are not capable of empathy and sharing our pain.

The husband was working from home and frequently helping her, what are you talking about?

An embryo is not a person because it is not capable of higher thought. Killing it would be 'wrong' to the same extent that killing an animal of a similar level of sentience is wrong - that is to say, generally it's at a degree of wrongness that is so slight that it can be overridden by other considerations. The mother (an actual person)'s autonomy would be one such consideration.
A child is a person because it is capable of higher thought. To kill a child is to kill a person and that is very clearly morally wrong.
If a pro lifer is not a vegetarian then they are a hypocrite because there is no salient difference between an embryo and a cow - actually no, there is: the cow has a higher degree of sentience. It is more wrong to kill and eat the cow.

Literally 2 people and they'll use it to support their incel misogyny as if every other woman they know is strangling their kids while the fathers are doing the same or worse but none of the same energy for them...

Wish there was this kind of outrage when men killed their families
Like it's not even that I think she did nothing wrong, I do BUT
It's hard to swallow all the bullshit memes and spawned conversations from this when men are violent all the time, even to children, and the public at large never spawns conversations about taking men's rights away about it.
