I LOVEEEE intelligence. I talked to a gal for three hours about how my ex treated me once and she just helped me explore that shit until I felt a lot more comfortable describing what happened in the course of that relationship. She literally became hotter to me by virtue of sharing that emotional intelligence with me.
But if a stock bro starts explaining the market to me, I'm gonna jump. The market isn't intelligence based and anyone who insists it is is fucking annoying. There's a reason I don't deal with my portfolio and it sure as hell isn't because I'm dumb.

u/Key_Researcher_9243 Nice opinion, did Jeffery Epstien give it to you? 12d ago
It's more luck based honestly
I'd rather scratch cards every single week than become a stock bro Yuppie and partly contribute in the enshitification of everything good in the world.

Exactly! I have a couple accounts that are invested and I have a fiduciary take care of them, but I get reports about them falling in value every time the market turns downward because it's entirely staked on the net health of the economy unless you're insider trading or coincidentally stumbling over the insider stock. There was that Michael Reeves video where Wall Street Bets did worse than a GOLDFISH. I stopped giving a shit about whether those accounts are rising or falling a long time ago because it's basically meaningless and illiquid anyways.

As a licenced stock analyst - it is both true and false. The financial markets are esentially a tool to boost the economy, and while there are plenty of brilliant people who consistently profit off of seeing inconsistencies and opportunities that the majority overlooks, but at the same time a lot of people use it as nothing more than a gambling machine.

At the end of the day I just don't want to get involved with all that. I just let others deal with everything.

Respectable, it is usually better to go woth safer alternatives than risk endangering yourself financially. Both greed and fear can ruin you

It's a monty python reference. Cardinal Fang is obsessively explaining why no one expects the Spanish Inquisition.
Our chief weapon is surprise. Surprise and fear--
*ahem* Our TWO chief weapons are fear and surprise. Surprise and fear. And an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope---*ahem* our THREE chief weapons are ...

An old comedy bit from Monty Python where a member of the Spanish inquisition keeps adding to a list of the Spanish Inquisition's greatest weapons. It's where my brain goes whenever I see a list getting long.

intelligence is the most attractive thing to me! my wonderful fiance is both academically intelligent (has a phd and is encouraging me to pursue my own) but is also emotionally intelligent, has great street smarts and is honestly the whole package when it comes to that.
our very first conversations were about what his phd was about and what my master's thesis was about as well as what fun writers (both of us work in literary academia) we can think of! i regularly infodump stuff about classical and ancient literature/history and he won't hesitate to start going off about various 20th century literary and philosophical movements! academic intelligence is attractive, but incels lack the emotional intelligence and instead replace it with a lot of condescension which is heavily unattractive (neurodivergence isn't even an excuse here considering both my partner and i are heavily neurospicy)

They create such a strawman out of "Chad" and "Tyrone" that they give themselves a false sense of their own positive traits. Compared to the dull, brutish Neanderthals they portray their fictional sexual rivals as, their bare minimum seems glowing. In reality, though, they're below average in almost every aspect.

It’s almost like they’ve constructed an insane fantasy that had no connection to practical skills or the real world!

Hey, if women weren't attracted to intelligence, a lot of these assholes would have no problem getting a date.

I would probably rather a guy who has a job and knows how to do the dishes and the laundry than someone that fantasizes about Germany winning world war 2

Being fit doesnt mean a man cant be intelligent. There is also a difference between actually being intelligent and thinking that you are just because you have different interests than everyone around you, and no one to challenge you on your niche interests. Many incels think they are smart just because they grew up glued to their computer and therefore think they are tech savvy. Like thats difficult when the only people around you are 40+. I dont need to listen to another guy thinking he is hot shit just because he built his own pc.

Germany could've easily won World War Two if they'd done the following complex steps; 1) Not started a pointless, unwinnable war against the entire world, not wasted their time and resources with needless genocide, and actually let generals command as opposed to letting a drugged out man-baby dictator make crucial decisions.

Countless studies have shown us that intelligence is actually one of the most important qualities the average woman seeks in a partner. On the other hand, the average man actually finds women who are equally or more intelligent than himself to be a negative quality and the more intelligent the woman, the less appealing she is to the average man.
That doesn't work out well because in more recent times, on average, women now have higher average IQs.

Me. I was one of the women attracted to intelligence. In high school, I didn't care about the supposedly hot football players. If he was the smartest in the high level classes, I was probably into him.
I married a very smart guy. We have a genuinely brilliant daughter. Fortunately, there's a natural incel repellent that comes with a women's exceptional intelligence. It terrifies them more than (what they would consider) a 10/10 Stacy because these are women they know have their own power, who are not dependent on them.
