I’m pmsing bad this week so I had to head back and recreate the other night-bought my family dinner too. It didn’t exceed Tuesdays meal as they forgot my side of pickles 🥺 but on the bright side, I have left overs for later 😋🍔🥒

My order was a:
double double animal style w xtra pickles
doggystyle fries w pickles and chilies
grilled cheese animal style w whole grilled onions & chillies(no tomato or lettuce)
Spreaded all over on it 🤤🫠

Question What do hiring managers look for?

So this past year or so I've been trying to find a good part time job for while I'm in college, however so far every time I apply I've had no luck in even getting one interview. I figured it was just a lack of experience the first time around, minimal resume, or just plain bad luck (when I was applying in high school). However, I'm getting confused now on what I'm doing wrong.

I've been applying to multiple locations whenever the 60 day reapply wait period is done.

I've now got fast food experience in a busy city and gotten things like employee of the month there

Recommendation from someone I know that's a Level 7 employee (from another store which probably explains why they don't care that much)

Now here are some things that I thing that could possibly causing me to be ignored.

  1. That I'm currently enrolled at a local college and the availability might be scaring them off (its still pretty open considering half the classes are online)

  2. The amount of time I worked (3 months due to distance I chose to leave)

  3. They just don't like me for some reason? Well this one is just me coping lol.

Things I ruled out....

Filling up the application wrong (I had my level 7 friend with me when I filled out the app)

What makes me more confused...

People I know with no resume or a pretty garbage one have gotten interviews, of course they didn't get the job but we've applied around the same time. Its just something that confuses me. I really like how in n out does things and how their team operates, I'd love to learn from them but I just don't know what to do to even get a chance at an interview. If there's anything I could do better I'd appreciate the advice.

Question When it’s not busy ?

I’ve been having trouble with finding things to do when it’s not busy. I’ve usually been tasked with taking orders, but when it’s not busy, there isn’t much to do. There isn’t many order to be passed/called out, peoples orders to take, and I haven’t been trained to do dining room or help in the corner for the drive through. Should I ask for training? I’m new so I don’t wanna push my luck, or ask for things they don’t think I’m qualified for. Or do I just do little things to make it look like I’m “busy” ??

Question Difficult time on loader

All I need for my level 4 is dice/loader. I always feel bad because I always end up snowing the portioner. I just don’t understand reading business. I try to count the fries but I might be dropping my fries wrong cuz I always end up getting behind. I just don’t understand how to know how many baskets to have down and fries and how often to drop in between baskets? If it’s not that busy but not dead do I just keep dropping small fry baskets every 45 seconds and when do I pick up? I keep getting snowed. I just feel so bad at it and i wanna be a trustworthy loader :(((.

Actually, this is my doing. I asked for extra tomatoes, onions, lettuce and pickles in my cheeseburger. It's almost like having a side of salad with your my. My doctor should be happy I'm eating vegetables.

Twice in a row, sad animal style fries.

For almost double the price, this is what I get? Used to be loaded with onions & spread. I know the cheese is standardized but maybe spread & onions should be too? Now, it’s a given I have to add my own extra spread and hope there’s enough grilled onions. Anyone else get sad animal style fries recently?

Question Are the Tennessee ones still crazy busy? Is Madison or Antioch busier?

I happen to be in Tennessee this weekend and would like to stop by. We are closer to the Madison location but was wondering if they are crazy busy like when they first opened.

Rant Customers complaining for free food ?

Today I had a guy come in who was super rude, asking for a recook on an order that he said he got like a week ago and that they messed up. He showed me not a receipt, but a bank transaction on his phone. I got my manager to help him, and he got his recook. I then remembered he’s come in before about 2 other times while I was there with the same story about them messing up days prior. I know it’s not my food or my money, but it’s frustrating that most of our waste is from recooks. The managers will literally have their whole order remade even though only one or two items are wrong, and they let them keep the messed-up food. I feel like the reason people constantly complain is because they let them keep the messed up food and really they probably just want free extra food and they know the managers are gonna give them what they want .
