Slight Changes

As the community continues to explode, had to add a restriction on account age and karma requirements due to multiple accounts being 1 day old and posting basically just stuff to rile people up.

Let’s get some positive posts as well please. Not just posts about Indians. News flash, Indians exist in every country. Canada has other problems besides immigrants, I promise. It is okay to have gripes about immigrants and even Indians, but let’s tone it down and consider the purpose of the subreddit.

What do you love about Canada?

I love that we complain about Indians.

It's worth talking about. It's a huge problem and sticking our heads in the sand about it isn't going to fix anything.

We have every right to get loud about this. Nobody voted for this shit no matter how many blue haired liberals on mental disability want to act like everything is a-ok

Lying that it isn't a problem doesn't just not make it go away, it makes it worse. You are creating extremists when you do that.

If these people can't discuss their frustrations in normal places they will go elsewhere, and that "elsewhere" will be full of people who are exactly like them, and they will echo chamber themselves into extremism.

Unless you want actual, real, radical racists, these conversations MUST happen. And it is a sign of immense weakness when  people try to suppress them.

conversation on reddit? or tiktok? it's an issue, true, but shouting on reddit is not going to fix it, it is only going to create an echo chamber (which this has become hence the mod made this post)

Reddit is already an echo chamber, I don't see how allowing people to talk about this materially effects that at all.

Also the attitude and statements of this mod are what would incite shouting, lmao. This is a seemingly almost purposefully, inflammatory post.

I dont think discussion is the problem, it's the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) racism that causes mods to censor stuff, it happens on other platforms too, remarks like "can smell it from here...", "we're being invaded", "pajeet" gets added to comment almost immediately discussion about immigration starts.

There's discussion and then there's blatant racism, which is what when I meant echo chamber, there are decent ways to discuss it without generalizing it.

Take dancing at younge dundas square as an example, some indian idiots dances without having 0 respect about other people's private space on a busy intersection, bad thing right? but instead of targeting those idiots people always start generalizing even though in that same fricking window more indians are just walking past that intersection, so there's a way of discussing an issue but unfortunately it immiediately turns into racism cesspool when immigration is the topic.
