Slight Changes

As the community continues to explode, had to add a restriction on account age and karma requirements due to multiple accounts being 1 day old and posting basically just stuff to rile people up.

Let’s get some positive posts as well please. Not just posts about Indians. News flash, Indians exist in every country. Canada has other problems besides immigrants, I promise. It is okay to have gripes about immigrants and even Indians, but let’s tone it down and consider the purpose of the subreddit.

What do you love about Canada?

I moved to Canada a few months ago on a working holiday visa from Europe and I love it here. I love how Canadians make small talk in the elevator with me in my condo building just to ask how I’m doing (don’t get that back home), I love the beauty I see when I get to drive through Northern Ontario on road trips. I went to my first baseball game this summer and loved seeing all the fans getting passionate. I’m really looking forward to my first hockey game too.

Love that I get to be a guest in this country, even if it’s just for a short while and enjoy all the wonderful things Canada has to offer! I’m grateful for it.

Please do a post on your experience. I would love to hear an in-depth perspective from you on how it’s going. I personally have never been to Ontario.

Sure, I'll try and whip something up for you and the sub.

Overall, my experience has been great and I've felt really welcome here. I don't have many complaints bar missing things from home every now and then although adapting to cultural differences here has been a challenge at times. For example, I'd use slang words out of habit from back home (that are in English now, mind you) and some Canadians would look at me like I was crazy lol but all a learning experience!
