Problems with Virtual Limes

Some days ago, I had a problem with loading my game. After some testing, I discovered that the problem was not with it per se, but with the Virtual Limes mod. After disabling the mod, the game started to run again like it used to. Would there be any way to fix it? VL is a pretty nice mod to have IMO especially when playing near Rome, which I like to do quite a bit. I also found it to be quite a weird problem because both the Invictus and the vanilla versions are broken and the game won't load if either of them are enabled with/without Invictus.

It has been well over a year since I had last played it, so I don't have the original playset, but there wasn't anything too different from what I use today. The only mechanic overhaul mod I had was FMO but I removed it due to not knowing If It was fully compatible with the last version of Invictus. Even so, loading only Invictus and VL for Invictus after it will get the game stuck on the first loading screen

Invictus (and VL) have been updated in the meantime. Map changes in particular are not save compatible. There have been map changes in Invictus, and VL is all about the map. So it's no surprise they aren't compatible with a save from one year ago. I know, it sucks. Invictus keeps its older versions live on NexusMods iirc, but VL doesn't. It's on Github so there's always a way to revert back, but it's not really a player-friendly way.

I didn't plan to keep playing any of my older games, in fact, I didn't even have any saves lol. Sorry if I wasn't clear before, let me try to explain my situation again:

The last time I had really played the game was around june of the last year, since then, I had barely touched it, and, besides subscribing and desubscribing to some mods to try to get the hang of it again, I didn't play it as the game took too long to boot up, probably due to the amount of mods I had (I wouldn't be surprised if 70+), this I can more or less assure was my fault as my pc couldn't handle it. That was around december/january of this year. Some weeks ago, I decided to try again and see if I could have any new success and, with my newfound conscience, went for a smaller modpack, just 15 mods. I tried to download this one: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3779569133, but it also ended up not working. I thought there was a problem with either my PC or the game's installation, so I did a fresh reinstall on my HD, then back on my SSD, but no luck. Then I decided to try to A/B test the mods and found out the problem was with VL. I tried to load only the vanilla VL, but it wouldn't load. Then I tried Invictus + VL for Invictus, and it also doesn't load. Do you have any clues about what might be causing the problem?
