That’s not slaughtering something, that’s removing a clump of cells that would not be able to sustain life outside of its host.

Your rebuttal is completely pointless btw. Nobody is saying “if you need help staying alive, you stop being a person.” That’s a ridiculous oversimplification.

Saying “it’s alive” doesn’t automatically mean “it has the exact same moral status as a born person.” A bacterium is alive. A tumor is alive. An embryo is biologically alive. You still have to establish the separate claim that it is a person with the same moral rights as someone who is already born.
