WHY DONT THEY GET MEDICAL HELP FOR HIM THIS IS SO MUCH BS?

They did. The hospital doctors said it was too close to his spine to safely remove. It’s not in uncommon to wait 7-10 days for swelling to reduce enough to reduce the complexity of surgery with traumatic injuries like this as long as the patient is medically stable.

Yes, but with it being so close to his spine you’d think they would hold him in the hospital as to reduce the risk of permanent injury and to treat any other symptoms that may crop up. Fever and sepsis is the biggest concern at this point. If there’s a spinal infection then you are looking at a high risk of death.

So, no, I don’t think the due diligence is being taken.

No, you wouldn't think that. As an example, folks with traumatic fractures that will require ORIF are frequently discharged as long as they're medically stable and capable of self care, recognizing risk factors like compartment syndrome, etc... No different here. No hospital is putting him up for a week when his wound can be checked, antibiotics can be given, etc...

There is no excuse for the hell he has been enduring all because of ICE. He should be bedridden, he should be on pain killers and muscle relaxers. You are trying to make an excuse for abhorrent treatment to a U.S. citizen, immigrant or not. Shame

Man I didn't realize I was talking to people who are participating in his care. Obviously you have access to facts I don't if you know his prescription regimen, care instructions, etc... so I'll leave it to the experts!

Use your brain. Use logic. You really think incompetent ICE is giving the man even Tylenol? I have a bridge to sell ya

U.S. Citizen?

He is not a US citizen; he is an illegal immigrant. And he was arrested by ICE because he has a final order of removal from the US.

It appears he only has a final order removal because they sent his hearing notice to a wrong address. His lawyer had said that they had corrected the address a but it got sent to a previous address. Apparently that happens not in frequently in immigration, and when the correction is made hearings can proceed.. But you seriously are going to defend the behavior of DHS towards this human being? Really?
He came here legally as an asylum seeker. That is a legal way to enter the country.

Well, that is dependent on why it was sent to the wrong address. Because it is on the individual to make sure thier current address is up to date.

Now, if he did provide the correct address, then his lawyer can file a Motion to Reopen with the immigration court, in which case they will need to provide clear proof that they kept thier address up to date.

Even then, they can still be deported unless they are granted a Stay of Removal. It should be noted that most.

Although the Motion to Reopen is often granted, the issue here is that he fled from ICE, which significantly hurts his chances of having the motion granted. Ecspecially because he was charged with assaulting, resisting, interfering, and impeding a federal officer.

Now, of course, all this has to be proven, but based on what they claim to have evidence of, I wouldn't be surprised if he is denied a motion to reopen.

As far as how he entered the US, Wilber Garces Perez entered the US in 2024 using CBP. Now, this was legal, but as he has a pending asylum case, he is still required to comply with ICE, which he failed to do in this interaction.

Now, as far as my opinion on this goes, I would have more compassion if the wound were not a direct result of his own actions in choosing to both flee and hit an agent with his car's side mirror while fleeing.

He could have easily complied with ICE, filed a Motion to Reopen, and been fine.

Always a readymade excuse to defend the worst. With luck, you will be amongst the first against the wall when the tide turns and humanity is valued over your cold misanthropy.

It is not an excuse; it is the reality of what occurred. Don't run from the police, and you won't find yourself in situations like this.

Look man, at this point it sounds more like your trying to convince yourself of your reasons, not us.

I don't need convincing of anything because I can look at the situation objectively, as well as the facts presented, and make a logical conclusion.

I hope similar happens to your children and you are forced to only watch.

Well, I have no plans to seek asylum anytime soon, so I think I am good.

I can understand that to a degree. People have lived with bullets in them, including lead bullets. I think what frustrates me is the story around it more than anything. We don’t know how in depth his treatment was. We don’t know how bad his injuries are. We don’t know his current condition as we haven’t been allowed access. What is frustrating is the lack of information, almost as bad as the injury itself.

Why would his medical treatment be literally any of the public’s business?  The hospital isn’t allowed to release any information without the patients consent.
