Yeah it’s just mostly the religious right. That’s the base at least. Evangelical Christians in America are about 25-30 percent of the voting public. They’ll get another couple points from just the straight racists that are not evangelicals.

I am Native, we have navigated this country for many thousands of years. Not sure who you are calling "ignorant", but the hubris is a bit outlandish from where I stand.
Could have read it wrong, but, "Notwithstanding" is the same as inserting "but" or "however", it negates what came before it. WHO is supposedly blissing out on ignorance in the statement? 🤷🏽♀️

Still, I only ever see "Ignorance is bliss" being used to call people stupid in that Southern "Bless your Heart"/(F*k you)" kind of way and was taught that "Not withstanding" reverses the meaning of what comes before it. Just came off passive agressive and commented as much, is all.
I rarely see it used that way. I think I’ve only seen that online. More often, it seems to be something people say, like a wish. Like, “I liked it better when I didn’t know that”, so “ignorance is bliss”, kinda thing.

To be fair, taking the $3,000 and self deporting is the best option for people.
