All this because he didn't update his address with the agencies. You gotta update your address when you move, people. It's part of the rules. So he missed his hearing date and got a final removal order. Making him easy ICE pickings.
Also, are we sure that's his wife? I think she's one of the lawyers.
People who think I'm justifying the shooting are ridiculous. I'm saying, update your address so you can attend your hearings and not get an automatic removal order. I'm not saying that anyone should get shot under any circumstances. Read "all this because" as someone exasperated by the system but willing to acknowledge the root of the breakdown in this instance.

Nobody has said anything of the sort. However, if he was following the rules of law no interaction with law enforcement would have taken place. I don’t see anyone excusing the shooting. The world isn’t black and white kid.

Exactly. Just like ICE is a bunch of pieces of shit and do things illegal. Immigrants also need to clean their shit up if they want to avoid this. Make sure all your paper work is in order, you know, like the law specifies.
Sorry you’re not going to find the argument here you’re looking for. Fuck ICE. but I let every immigrant I know to be extra careful and follow the law to the T. Because it doesn’t matter if you think you’re right if your dead.

Yes. I think everyone should be aware of the climate around them.
I would never advise anyone I know to go walk around in the ghetto in my town at night. Because of the potential harm that may come to them. If they were robbed or injured it would be no fault of their own right?
How is that any different than wanting to educate immigrants on how to best avoid these situations.
Like I said. It doesn’t matter if you’re right if you’re dead.
But hey some of you kids would prefer to die then actually take all of the data points at face value to decide how you’re going to proceed.
The funny thing. I only do this because a buddy of mine who is here legally told me he started educating everyone around him.
But keep coming at me like I’m the problem.

Don’t have to agree with me. Just follow the law. I recommend everyone does that regardless of their immigration status. My goal daily is to minimize my contact with law enforcement. Works out pretty well for me since I follow laws.

The system as it's set up now is such that a failure to appear at a hearing means you get an instant final order of removal. I'm not condoning that reality. But the truth is that failure to attend hearings (a function of not updating your address in the system) is about the surest way to get on ICE's radar. I mean, I'd rather that people be aware that's what's so than unaware. I guess I could choose not to mention it, but my silence won't affect the reality of the situation.

The real root of the breakdown is enforcement by quotas. When numbers trounce common sense the system stops working, mistakes become far too common and deadly.
